The Stage Is Set (TEAM ATSLT GO!)
Sherry glanced around— pitch black, but she wasn’t alone. Her and Azazel awoke already together which was a relief, but the blonde was worried. Jake was nowhere to be found. Her brows furrowed as the agent glanced towards the door. So they were to get back to their rooms, it seemed easy enough. However, knowing the doctors and nurses at the terrible hospital, it would be a torturous journey. She called out Jake’s name a few times.
A few minutes passed without sign of the familiar man, and an uneasiness settled in the blondes stomach. A time limit was mentioned long ago, and the agent was anxious to see what laid behind the door. Zombies, Sherry knew would be no problem for the three— especially her and Jake. Ghosts and such were a different story, though the blonde was relieved to know her regeneration powers were in tact.
Just as she was about to suggest to Azazel that the two should look for the mercenary, footsteps were heard. The blonde did not draw her gun, squinting in the darkness. Was that him…?
Pitch black. Freaking great. Jake examined the flashlight before flicking it on, standing up. He didn’t recall much, just decorations and then waking up here. He looked about the area with aid of the flashlight, groping his holster. He was relieved to find his handgun there. Good. Probably limited ammo though, which sucked. He started moving, hearing eerie noises all about.
The mercenary turned around slowly after hearing someone call his name. It sounded unnatural.. Goddammit, what was going on? Taking out his handgun, he walked towards the source, keeping the flashlight shined ahead, gun raised. He heard the voice call him over and over again, the tone of it so distorted. It didn’t even sound familiar. He reached what looked like a doorway, turning with ease, shining the flashlight into the area. He recognised Sherry immediately, lowering his hand gun.
“You rang, Super girl?” He said, about to stroll in when he paused, light shined on the person standing beside her. He stared, wondering if Sherry even knew that.. That the devil himself was standing behind her. “Uh…” He wasn’t sure how to word it, deciding to just gesture for Sherry to move forward.
He'd seen this human with Sherry before. So his name was Jake... well, judging from the man's wary stare, it was easy for Azazel to see how unwelcome he was. No matter--- he was used to such reactions. The mutant nodded to the stranger, red tail curling and flicking slowly from side to side.
“Uh…”
"Hello."
He moved to stand beside Sherry, piercing blue gaze remaining trained on the other human. "..I am Azazel." He, too, did not like the look of things, but it was clear that there were more important matters to be concerned over. Foolish humans could come later. The mutant turned away, slowly approaching the door.
He wasn't satisfied with the idea of working with another human, especially one he didn't know at all... but from what he'd managed to observe before, simply from going through the hospital halls, this Jake was fine with taking care of himself. Good. Then they were all able people.
Azazel stared at the door, brow furrowing.
"It seems we must go inside."
