        “Whoa, really? Can I? I’d love to spend your birthday with you, Marnie, if that’s okay!” Lillie can feel herself filling with excitement. A birthday party..! And Marnie is honestly her first female friend in ages. Plus... “Do you mind if I try to wear that new outfit of mine? Oh, and may I bring you a present?”

Hotel Birthday Party! [open]

The hotel room opened up to the sound a music softly thrumming inside. Some ribbons and balloons are tossed around, and the desk has been cleared to make space for presents and snacks. A Shiny Charizard and a Volcarona are resting in one corner, with a bunch of other party goers moseying around.

“Hello, hello!” Alice said, grabbing the guest’s hand and bringing them in, “I’m so happy you’re here! You can put all your stuff down there on the desk. Can I get you something to drink?”

“Hey hey!” Hunter called out from where he was on the bed, surrounded by Pokemon, “Welcome in! Hope it wasn’t hard to find us or anything.”

        “Alice, Hunter!” Lillie called in greeting. Her stomach felt full of Butterfree. This was her first time visiting friends for a birthday... and though she still barely knew the twins, Lillie was eager to change that. 

           She set two bags on the table, containing fashion accessories for both twins. Hopefully they wouldn’t be opposed to Lillie’s tastes: One set matched, while the other accessory was picked with the individual twin in mind.

        “Not at all. Sobble is quite good with a map.” When he wasn’t crying all over it. “How has the party been thus far? I hope I wasn’t late.”

          “Turn on...? Hm.  Honestly,  I don’t think there’s anything that automatically attracts me to someone... Everyone I’ve had crushes on, I’ve liked because we spent time getting to know each other. Maybe it’s that they... they seem kind... and they people I’ve liked all radiate kindness. You can kind of see it, I think. In their eyes...”

          “She was like a fairytale princess and knight, all in one. At first,  I felt horrible for leaning on her so much. Whenever I was in trouble, she would appear from no where and calm all of my troubles. And even the troubles I tried to ignore, she had a way of finding them out and helping me fix them. She was just a normal girl, but the way she treated people... humans and Pokemon... She could bring out the best in anyone and everyone. She even brought out the best in me.”

          “I wish I knew where she was now. I’d like to tell her that she was my first crush someday... and show her how strong I’ve become... and thank her.”

how long have you been aware of your sexuality/identity?

          “It wasn’t until recently... I used to think that maybe I wasn’t grown-up enough, and maybe I would grow out of being asexual. Everything I saw on television or read in books made developing those feelings sound like a mark of adulthood. It wasn’t until I began meeting more people and learning more about the world that I realized it was okay to be this way...”

          “And, well... With someone... that I’m quite fond of... I tried to pass it off as just liking her like a sister, until, uh... Well... I realized that every time I thought of her being my sister, I hurt a little... When I started thinking of her as my knight in my head, it really hit me that I might be in love with a girl. But I’m glad I figured it out. She really does reflect all of the good in the world... like the moon.”

               She can only smile shyly at first. It’s strange to be told that she’s a hero. And having someone openly say they’re proud of her? It makes her very happy, too. She’s become so used to having to translate silent actions into prideful ones.

            “I hope you know that I feel the same way for you. When I say you’re a hero... I mean that I’m proud of you, Red. Thank you for being here.”
