“A fic where Simon thinks Grace is an angel” is ok but what would make this even better is if before he passes out, he sees this blurry blob that appears human having a third arm appear out of nowhere to put an oxygen mask over his face and he thinks Grace is an alien that has shape shifted into a human like form to not freak him out and is like “well that’s normal I guess. I did just survive a killer eel so aliens existing is just logical.”

Cut to when he wakes up and the first thing he sees is Rocky so he thinks Grace has shifted back into his regular form but in reality? Rocky is just watching over the new human whilst Grace is working in the lab.

Can you imagine if/when Grace finally comes into where Simon is recovering after Rocky goes to get him and Rocky doesn’t come back in so he just thinks Rocky and Grace are the same person just “shifting” so Simon has “more people” to interact with? Eventually he does see the two of them together in the same room and he’s like “I thought you two were one and the same….”

Gimmie Eridians who are absolutely heartbroken to hear that humans where so desperate and so scared that they where willing to part with not just one Grace, there were three of them! Gimmie Eridians touched to find that the humans planned a way for their sacrifices to be as comfortable as possible. Gimmie Eridians who send earth a message saying “We know it must have hurt to send your heroes to die, but one made it and he’s safe here. We lost 22 good Eridians on the journey we would have lost 23 if not for your Grace.”

Give me humans sitting on Earth slowly coming to the conclusion that when we look up not only are we not alone, someone out there is alive because of one of us. That no matter what we think of ourselves a whole species thinks highly of us because we helped save the galaxy. Give me humans who figure out how to send a probe to Erid filled to the brim with messages for Grace and footage of a monument being raised that reads his name, his crews names, and then “in memory of the 22 Eridians who lost their lives on the journey to save the stars.”

WIZARDING WORLD OF LOUIS LOPEZ RE-REFERENCES - Edward , Isaac

Isaac and Edward didn't quite exactly change. They had some upgrades here and there, admittedly a lot nicer then the previous designs. These designs were originally re-made way back in October of 2025, but I never ended up posting them. Though, the references going forward will/should be more as of lately.

More Information and Character Notes Beneath The Cut

Unlike the previous references (I.E The updated Justin and Louis from October), I decided that I will write down the notes here too instead of withholding them. The lineless art first, before I begin the notes.

Edward

Despite him being Mothman, or better put, based on the Mothman myth itself - he covers as a Zombie. As per original polls on the defunct blog of mine; that had been the original tie for his species. Basing upon those polls, some of those no longer go for the character (exam. the twins are no longer candy skulls.)

The Mothman is a large legend, so it's highly believed that people are just crazy. In reality, without getting a field of view of the outside view - everyone looks as they normally would in the normal IBVS story. This branches off of it in a more fantasy 'Oh shit theres actually more to meet the eye' part. With Mothman, Louis would probably freak out seeing a literal legend myth in front of him as well as the other jocks.

The way he changes from Mothman to Zombie is hardly known, it is something he's just able to do. I would think it's probably something to do per his powers - his strings.

- ^ When it comes to his strings, he can wrap himself in a sort of cocoon silk that transforms him to a zombie. When he wishes to change back, it's like shedding skin. It's really gross looking.

- ^ His strings are also technically silky threads, a lot gentler but still very strong. They're thick, and can be used to his advantage for hiding or otherwise 'shapeshifting' (it is for a very limited time.)

Unlike popular belief, light that is not natural like the sun, can disorinate Moths instead of just being there at your porch abnormally. That is why they're trying to fly towards your lights on your porch, as they follow light sources for guidance and is far confused when theyre off their path. For this to be incorporated into Edwards character, it has to do with his intuition. When his intuition is triggered, he feels light headed and it's like his gaze is fuzzy. He gets on a one-track mind and follows them frequently, kind of as normal Edward would do. The only difference is, that it tends to bring actual migraines and makes him sluggish for a short period of time.

Isaac

Isaac is based on the myth called The Demon Cat. It's part of american folklore, basically seen as an omen of dark tragedies. Usually seen as a normal sized black cat, turning into something that scares witnesses right after. Which, that's why Isaac can calmly switch between both human and cat alike.

His powers are also a bit more odd. The bag he carries, whatever object he uses must be related to something discarded. His old notebook from a child could be used, but nothing recently made. As well as his old brushes have to be well-loved to be used. Damaged objects will do more for Isaac compared to more repaired.

^ If the object were repaired and is used, then it only has a bit of a short lifespan compared to if they were damaged. It also wouldn't be as strong-willed in comparison. This can be problematic in situations where he only has objects that has not been used at all to defend himself.

-^ The ink manipulation is more then just ink itself. If an object is thrown in the trash that may have any trace of ink whatsoever, or maybe something that has been touched by a pen - he's able to pull it from the object itself at the cost of injury to his body (i.e the black marks scattered across him)

He frequently jumps roof to roof to get places he does not want to be seen at all. Which can result in hurt and ends up mainly damaging Isaac's clawed hands. He's not restricted to roofs though, it's just an adrenaline rush he uses when he 'needs to feel something'. He also uses it to escape Edward if he ever tries talking to him and he wishes not to interact

His ears and tail of course, show how he's feeling when he's feeling a certain way. It doesn't make it easy for him to hide emotions he doesn't wish to make obvious.

Despite his cardigan here, he still has his light-brown and black cardigan from his old reference. That will be what I may mainly draw him with.

I don't have the words for this but. Art and science are always hand in hand.

The perfectionism of artists has them researching stuff in a way that only scientists can compare. Some artists become experts in biology or anatomy. Other special interests have them going down rabbit holes to make them better at their art.

Disney animators said "we are perfecting the code for this snow if it kills us" and researched and invented code until it acted like real snow in Frozen and snow scientists were like hey. Did we just fucking solve the Dyatlov Pass mystery. And the animators answered no. We made snow. YOU applied the knowledge and did the experiments to solve what could have happened at Dyatlov Pass.

And it was a team effort because of course it was. You can't have art without science. And you can't have science without art.

some rambles i was thinking about for a potential bloodymary au, but this is just my take on simon's past

timeline (semi based on canon) 0 EIC (1992) : Mars colony is established 143 EIC (2135) : The Quiet Rapture occurs 341 EIC (2333) : Simon is born 357 EIC (2349) : The Filament Station incident occurs 374 EIC (2366) : The Iron Lung is deployed

Simon is sixteen during the Filament Station incident

Simon has a kill count prior to this, and it's the origin of his title 'The Butcher'

While Simon was never entirely convinced about Eden and their philosophy, his mother was. Because he loved her so deeply, he did any and everything to make her proud of him

Eden's 'Father' knew of Simon's skepticism and put him through rigorous tests and trials in order for him to prove his loyalty

The 'mission' he was given that officially got him his title was actually an orchestrated test. Father had several brothers dress as COI members and ordered Simon to kill them. Simon refused to resort to murder, but Father used Simon's mother to convince him, lying that she would be in danger if he failed to remove the threat

Simon was twelve at the time and became Eden's most brutal and efficient soldier

The Filament Station incident truly wasn't supposed to go the way it did, however Simon's brothers saw it as a way to potentially get rid of him. Things escalated beyond their control and Simon was the one to take the blame for it. Even if it was the fault of his brothers, Simon still felt guilty for their deaths and turned himself in to the COI

Simon spent seventeen years in prison, where early on, he was often targeted by other prisoners, up until Simon proved to be willing to fight tooth and nail to stay alive, and he was mostly left alone after that

Simon is not naturally violent, but he has an incredibly strong will to live. His temper flares very quickly, but it tends to die just as fast. Most often, he is soft-spoken and keeps to himself

Inspired not just by Eden, but his mother as well, Simon loves plants

His mother died a year before the Filament Station incident. His loyalty towards Eden started to waver without her influence, and he saw the Filament Station mission as a way out, to leave Eden and join the COI instead, but things did not end up working out that way

k but imagine Rocky wanting to learn about how humans became the apex predators of their planet so he has Grace “hunt” him in the biodome as an experiment and during it he thinks Grace isn’t trying or taking it seriously which is bad bad bad because this is for research purposes

only for Rocky to get more and more tired as the experiment goes on just to realize that Grace isn’t which makes him panic so he puts as much distance as he can between them and finds a (hopefully) safe spot to sleep and when he wakes up the human is crouching over him like “got youuu” and Rocky has never shrieked so damn loud before in his life

of course grace is delighted! but it'd be very funny if rocky had just. a massively specific regional accent. and now grace has it too. all the eridians from that area are like OMG THE ALIEN IS ONE OF US - we're adopting it. that's an honorary member of the clan. listen to it. it might as well have grown up here.

...actually i'm gonna do it. fuck it. rocky is space scottish. to me. he's mine now, i'm taking him out to look at the kelpies and the falkirk wheel and climb up ben ledi. he can go fishing in a loch. and now grace's eridian accent is their equivalent of scots. he says stuff to adrian's family (posh motherfuckers) and theyre like 'i think it's trying to communicate with us..?' meanwhile adrian, well used to rocky's accent by now, is like 'it's giving you a compliment. be nice to my spouse's alien, please.'

(adrian is like the dad who doesn't want a cat. theyre like this is my spouse rocky and rocky's... alien friend.. and then like two months later rocky comes in and adrian is letting grace sleep on top of them. he was cold, I couldn't just let him shiver, and rockys like no no beloved you're so right, and secretly rubbing his claws together like yesss just let it happen, grace will win all of erid over at this rate..)
