Fairy Tail Ending Predictions
I’ve been reading Fairy Tail since it started and had no intention of stopping due to quality dips, there’d be no way for me to ignore the feeling that I need to read it all the way :P. The ending to Fairy Tail feels almost merciful at this point, but I always have and still like the manga for its potential more than anything. Keeping that in mind XD, here are my optimistic predictions for the last ten chapters:
Mavis reveals that both she and Zeref could have died together long ago by breaking their curses with The One Magic (Love, just like Lucy thought, awww), but Zeref's attachment to the past held him to the world and prevented their curses from being fully broken. He needs to let go.
After some convincing, he finally finds peace and both pass on, their original lifespans long spent.
Natsu stumbles back to Lucy, Gray, and Happy.
Happy and Gray are freaking out because Lucy is unconscious.
Natsu already knows what Lucy did for him. He senses his flames inside her and 'breathes' them out of her with a kiss of life.
After some awkward comedy relief, the four happily make their way back to where Fairy Tail is regrouping.
Chapter ends with the implication that Natsu is slowly dying, though the other characters are unaware of this.
Various shipping/character resolutions, rebuilding Magnolia, etc.
Surprise! Acnologia breaks free of the time rift because Zeref had weakened it with his attempt at Neo Eclipse.
Brief one-on-one fight between human Acno and Natsu.
All seven Dragonslayers gather together and finally live up to their name with a Unison Raid Dragon's Roar, destroying him at last.
Natsu, Lucy, and Happy leave on a quest to reacquire Aquarius' key.
Natsu "dies" on the way back, his body disappearing.
But he returns in the very last chapter with a flimsy but semi-satisfying explanation (life-bonding magic with Lucy, "I promised Igneel", it was just END dying, etc).
One final scene with all of Fairy Tail gathered in front of the newly restored guild while Lucy narrates by paraphrasing Makarov's description of the guild.
"Do fairies really have tails? Do they even exist? Like them, this place is an eternal mystery... A never ending adventure!"
Manga ends "7 Years Later" with Lucy closing a book she has just finished writing.
NaLu canonicity is heavily implied but not explicitly shown.
No matter how it actually ends, I’ll still be kind of sad to see Fairy Tail go. Much like with Naruto, I grew attached to it while reading it for almost a decade (almost two decades in Naruto’s case, I guess) XD.
