Hi! Just a quick introduction: I'm Liv and I'm watching TOS for the first time!

Full disclosure, I'm not completely new to Star Trek. I've watched Discovery, Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds. But I finally decided to try and catch up with the whole thing so if you want to tag along be my guest!

I decided to make a side blog because I knew I was going to post a lot about this, I was delighted to find a very active and responsive fandom in Star Trek, and I hope you feel encouraged to start a conversation here whenever you feel like it. Comment, ask, and by any means if you know more than me, educate me.

My perspective on the subject is pretty fresh, I have some general pop culture knowledge but mostly no context or expectations, so far I'm simply delighted by how this journey has been full of surprises.

I'm a multi-shipper at heart, but I respect and revere the great power and history of Spirk, of course. Honestly, expect anything.

I like the idea of a Vulcan character who constantly does very reckless things so her human crewmates think she's strange but then she always has a logical explanation she delivers with absolute confidence.

"No, it was perfectly logical for me to jump out of the shuttle at that time. I had a breathing apparatus, and I was certain I could seal the subspace rift by hand before the Romulans opened fire. This was the only solution that would result in zero casualties. I might have died, but giving up is illogical."

She's known as one of the most fearless members of the crew.

People smarter than me! Hello! I have a question! If I were to write Vulcan calligraphy, specifically the word ‘explorer’, what would that look like?

Not my best work because I'm supposed to be working but I hope this helps, I ended up going with panu-talsu (world finder) as apparently -talsu is used for a lot of similar occupations (according to me lurking on VLD for 5 minutes)

How did you learn how to do this?? I know how Golic works (kinda), but their calligraphy is a mystery to me. Is there a specific resource you use to find this stuff out??

I mostly wing it to be honest, but no Vulcan has ever complained about my mistakes so it can't be that bad ;)

These are the resources I started with (although now I only follow the VLD, the two images and my heart)

If I can't find a word on the VLD and I don't know how to make it up I use the IPA transcription and the Vulcan letter related to the sound that I consider more similar
