Write who you are, where you are, what you are, and how you are. Someone wants to hear your story. I want to hear your story.
Myself, please steal this. Its just a dumb thought I had.

TRUTH. What you need is imagination, and you don’t need to go anywhere to use it.

This is why I need to visit Germany.
Me: “I’m really not enjoying this book, but I’ll force myself another 50 pages. It might get better.”
Me, 50 pages later:
Or does it cross over to a new state of being so bad, it starts getting better?
Perhaps we were friends first and lovers second. But then perhaps this is what lovers are.

Day 170 in 2020
Has anyone else chronicled the first day that they were first impacted by the virus-that-shall-not-be-named?
I am on Day 170. I wonder how many more days I will decide to track. I can’t decide if it is a survival technique to show that if I made it 170 days in this strange, different life, I could make it 170 more.
Or, if it makes me feel like I am living in a dystopian novel with a hopefully good ending. Any ending would do, I suppose.
Or, if a future historian stumbles across this archived post, would they decide to study the impact of it all? Could my post ignite a passion for someone to tell our story of how we continued to life and laugh through it all even with no clear end in sight?
Just a few not-so-light journal thoughts tonight.

Good decisions come from experience and experience comes from making bad decisions.

Throne of Glass - Sarah J Maas
As a 24-year-old isolated divorcee, what else can you do but read your favorite high school classics? And by classics, I mean a book that was written in a happier, simpler time of 2013.
Where was I in 2013? I was a junior in high school with no idea that in 7 long years I would be living in the same basement as her, fighting a weird plague, and even more clueless than her about love.
So what does this bookworm do?
Read. What else is there to do?
Where was Celeana Sardothien in 2013?
She was having just as much of a crappy time as me (only kidding) living in the salt mines of Endovier, slaving away, hacking away at some salt. Did they even provide a mask for her?
Very quickly, we learn that she is a killer Assassin with a sassy, spunky attitude with the beautiful motif of I will not be afraid. Being someone who is living in a constant state of fear in 2020, I could not relate to this fearlessness. However, this character is a comforting distraction and a strong heroine who is ready to fight in a competition to win her freedom.
With sprinkles of her past, and hints of her life before Endovier (wait till you find out about the prequel Assassin’s Blade) the novel’s action packed story follows the healing and training to be a fearsome fighter — with budding friendships and relationships — to be the King’s Champion.
This book has a nice blend of genres for everyone. Hunger Games fans will love the competition, the thrill of training, and the deep craving to win to survive.
True Crime fans will be thrilled to hear that there is more to this competition that meets the eye. Competitors disappear and end up like Hamburger Helper. In order for Celeana to win the competition, she may very well have to kill or be killed. But being a skilled and highly trained assassin shouldn’t be the difficult, right?
The fantasy buffs will love the hints of magic and the vast world of Adarlan. A questionable king, with a prince and a rival princess all living in a palace made of glass--it’s a wonder it doesn’t shatter under all the court intrigue.
To summarize, read this book if you are in QUARANTINE like me. Please like and follow for more book reviews. Thanks for reading, and if you have any book recommendations or would like me to read and follow your bookworm blog too, feel free to like, comment, follow, and I will follow you back!
Happy Tuesday! Stay safe. Time to put this book back on its shelf.
