“What an odd looking group of outlaws,” King muttered to himself from the hill he was hiding on within the undergrowth. When he got word of a group of outlaws using magic, King accepted but just believed it was illusions of sorts. A trick to the naked eye. In other words, he wasn’t afraid.
Seeing that they were wearing masks, made it far too easy for the bounty-hunter. Wearing masks was an obvious sign of a cult and their vision will be shortened. He never understood the need of masks. Far too cliche.
Taking aim, King noticed a young woman in his scope and moved faster. He went for the one at the back first, taking aim and shooting for the neck. King was merciful when it came to killing. He didn’t let them suffer. Like putting an animal down. Clocking his gun, he aimed and fired to another- now seeing them confused and unaware on what to do.
the sharp sound of a gun shot startled her. and undoubtedly, the group of dark wizards she had been hunting for a while, as well. when she watched one of them go down, bleeding from the neck, blood splattered everywhere, her eyes widened, and she immediately turned around to cast a protective spell around herself, and consequently, around the wizards surrounding her, as well. this was a group of extremists who were reacting rather badly to the recent witch burnings of the regions. magic was different in different parts of the world, and not every witch or wizard had the ability to escape in time. some of them burned.
and her job was to make sure they didn’t, and to keep the fragile peace as it was: fragile peace. it was hard to keep their world hidden from muggles to avoid this sort of conflict, but when these pureblood extremists went out of their way to make the ministry’s job harder than it had to be, it had to step in. the americans only seemed to accept their help because of hermione’s skill set. she hadn’t been too eager to leave her homeland, but once she had seen her dire things were here, she knew she was needed here.
in her distraction, one of them shot the killing curse towards the intruder, but thankfully her reflexes were faster, and she apparated behind the man that had shot at them in time to tug him out of the way. her hand grabbed hold of his arm and pulled him out of the way, the green jet of light hitting the rock behind them.
they both fell, or rather, she tried to pull him down but found herself rolling on the ground, ending up on top of the stranger, as another jet of green light flew their way. a man, of course. she stared at him, a little wide-eyed due to the position, but pressed a glove-covered finger to his mouth when he opened it to speak.
“ stay down, sir. you don’t want to mess with these people. that piece of metal won’t do you any good. ” she now had to make sure that not only she survived this, but a muggle, too. bloody fantastic. her british accent was clear, as was the way she stood up, kicking the man’s gun out of the way as she raised her wand, a jet of red light leaving its tip, that knocked two of the wizards to the ground. clearly, she’s no damsel in distress.
