Talking about shit half your mutuals dgaf about is important and we have to keep doing it forever
Just so we’re clear, movies that are only 15 years old do not need a remake. And movies that are only 10 years old definitely don’t need a remake
isnt it really cool how your memories can just physically attack you at random

the logic of this is making me laugh a lot
thinking abt the 'hello spongebob...' image again
defintiely contender for top images that exist
i have this deadly sickness called remembering
don't even remember posting this
no one ever talks about Ash getting sexually assaulted and it pisses me tf off. Everyone talks about Cheryl and the tree but no one mentions Deadite!Linda literally grinding all over Ash in EDII, or the scenes with Deadite!Henrietta forcing him to suck her tit and Deadite!Candace literally grabbing his dick in AVED. Or the sexual harassment, either. I think the Deadite's obsession with "destroying Ash's seed" in AVED was actually pretty fucked up and the fact it was played for comedy goes to show how no one takes male victims of sexual violence seriously.
I really wish the writers did a better job.
There's a way they could've written this and highlighted that its wrong through the deadites finding it funny but no instead it was done for purely comedic value as if the audience has the same sense of humor as the literal evil incarnate in the show.
One thing about a comedies potential I really like is that when they do choose to be serious or cover something serious, it could be a lot more hard-hitting. The comedy can prop up the serious moments a lot taller and make them more memorable but one of my biggest criticisms for the show is they fail to do this.
Every time they did have a serious moment, it felt like they tripped over their own feet before anything was achieved and they'd dilute these moments by cutting them short either via an unearned quick resolution or comedy without giving those serious moments any space to breathe. It bugs me so much, theres so much potential there but a lot of the writing fell so short (in my opinion)
and dont even get me started with finding the representation of Ash's PTSD/CPTSD + the comorbid problems related to it (and his disabilities in general) to be very lacklustre.
SIMPLE GUIDE:
Body Horror: Things that cannot happen in real life. EX: The Thing, stomach mouths, eyes on hands, etc
Gore: Fresh injuries, often severe. EX: Severed leg, gutspill, deep gashes, etc
NEITHER: Healed injuries and burns, congenital differences, missing appendages, etc. If I could theoretically go to the store and see that character browsing the isles- It isn't body horror or gore. That's just a person. *AND the amount of people that tag, not just fictional characters, but real human beings as body horror is staggering. Its not solely a fandom issue, ableism and bigotry against anyone that looks sufficiently "different" is prevalent in real life and has devastating consequences.
(Modified) from my comment left on this post.
Adding:
Self harm scars are not body horror.
Pregnant people are not body horror.
Burn scars are not body horror, that includes chemical burn scars.
Prosthetics are not body horror.
NOT having prosthetics is also not body horror.
There is no disability aid that is body horror.
Congenital differences + disabilities are not body horror.
AND acquired differences + disabilities are also not body horror.
Real people are not body horror.
If you are uncomfortable or scared because someone looks different than you that is YOUR PROBLEM. It is your responsibility to get over it, or at the very least not make it everyone else's issue. Play the quiet game.
i love when he said this in Evil Dead 2
happy terrible comics day

Draw what you think Ash’s fursona would look like
