First of all, good job Mexico. The support is amazing.

Second, I am curious as to why people always hyper focus on trump. He donated a million dollars to this and all people could say was “OMG HE COULD HAVE DONE MOAR”. Now that it’s for your agenda you are saying “FUCK TRUMP THEYRE DOING MORE THAN HIM.”

No, sorry, this shit doesn’t need to be political.

I personally think the wall is an awful idea, but if you paid attention, trump is going against *ILLEGAL* immigrants. Meaning that they illegally crossed the border.

Now, how about we stop making a fucking flood political, and instead worry about those in need? Let’s not push agendas when we should be HELPING THESE PEOPLE.

People are hyper focusing on Trump because he has yet to appreciate Mexico for all the help they have offered to Texas. A week or two ago when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas very hard, Mexico actually offered to physically rescue people out of their flooded homes.  But unfortunately such a decision had to be approved by the Trump administration, which they didn’t. Him being hush hush about Mexico’s help is extremely selfish and not far to the people of Texas who really needed that extra help. More lives could’ve been saved if Mexico sent their people over to physically help stranded victims. 

And no. He didn’t donate a million dollars…. yet. He said he was going to but he has yet to make the donation. The hurricane has been over for about a week, and more celebrities and regular civilians have donated more than him. The White House itself even had trouble confirming if trump is actually gonna pull through with the donation. And even if he did eventually decide to donate, it would still look bad considering how damn late he is. You can’t wait around on tragedies, it has to be quick. It would also be ironic considering the MILLIONS he cut from environmental programs that looks into global warming and ways to prevent natural disasters like this. 

Bottom line is we have to politicize natural disasters. Why? Because the U.S government’s response and actions to natural disaster victims is vital to how many lives are saved and how many futures are repaired afterwards. Terrible political decisions is literally the catalyst of the shitstorm responses and actions during hurricane Katrina. If trump immediately allowed Mexico to send their people to help the victims, it would have caused less casualties. Trump let his xenophobic political beliefs against Mexicans get to the best of him and now more Texans are struggling. Mexico has to send aid, which is good, but they could have done more if trump allowed them to.

A little while back, because I was so in awe of the Clexa fic writers, I made this userscript (can install on Firefox by using Greasemonkey and on Chrome and Opera by using Tampermonkey) so that I could do just that. $599.99 is the amount below which a business does not need to issue a 1099 to a contractor who provides business services. The contractor still needs to report the income on their taxes.

The correct number for the IRS rule for money that is gifted rather than received in a business transaction is $13999.99–more than that, and the recipient has to pay tax on the gift and report it to the IRS. Less than that, and there’s no taxation or reporting requirement.

If we’re choosing amounts on the basis of IRS limits, give these people $13,999.99.
