Bonus: Kitsey didn’t want Theo’s mother’s earrings.

Also, I think we’re meant to make the connection between the seventy-five thousand dollar girandôle necklace and the seventy-five hundred dollar Federal girandôle part ebonized convex mirror. Mirrors are a symbol of pretense and artifice, and by this connection, so is the necklace. The fact that it’s ebonized furthers this theme of concealment.

folks boris' anguish leaning in for that kiss knowing not only will he likely never see theo again (boris loses everybody) but that theo, the boy he loves, is going to despise him for what he did.

While Theo is now feeling it, Boris tells Theo some recent events about kotku. Theo notices something odd

Before Boris can continue more about his girlfriend, Theo interrupts him and tells Boris what he’s seeing

Boris just snorts and explains to Theo that it’s the acids hallucinations... and while that is true, Theo can’t stop staring and he begins to reach out to touch boris’s face

Then Theo blurts out a few things that make Boris flustered and he shoves Theo away and Theo is oblivious as always.
