Holy shit, her heart is beating out of her chest. Her long legs could only carry her so fast, yet it seems that whoever chased her was just that much faster. Laying on her back, facing up and staring into the mask, she feels her bottom lip quivering. "Please don't. . . ." She begs. She can hear Rafe and it sounds like he's heading toward her. "He's coming for me, he'll see you too." She warns the masked person who glances toward the sound of Rafe's voice. The hook is slung Kiara's way once more and she screams again, rolling onto her side and curling into a ball, but then the person is gone and she's sitting up. "Rafe?! Rafe! I'm over here!" She calls out, afraid that if she tries to get up, she'll just fall back over.

He's moving as fast as he can to get to her. He doesn't even feel the sticks he's stepping on, the rocks, anything. He only cares about getting to her. When she hears her call to him he turns into that direction. When he comes to her he looks to see if he can see whoever was trailing her to begin with but they're gone, and he's kneeling down beside her.

❝ Baby, hey...❞ he's pulling her close to him. ❝ Are you okay? What happened? ❞ he asks as he's looking her over, but there is only so much he can see in the dark.

Walking up to the Cameron household, something seemed amiss, Kie couldn't put her finger on it though. Looking around the side of the house where she heard someone, assuming that it was either Rafe or one of his siblings, she hears something that sounds like chopping. Okay, sure, winter is here, maybe someone's cutting up firewood? She gets closer to the smaller building where she steps up to the door and is met with a sight that horrifies her. Stopping in her tracks, she tries not to scream, but she does anyway. Shit. 𝓡𝓾𝓷!

She turns on her heels and starts to run as quickly as her feet can carry her, but whoever's in that creepy ass outfit with that mask is faster than she is and they're catching up to her, sinking a hook into her leg. "Stop! 𝓟𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓼𝓮!" She falls to the ground and looks up, holding her hands to cover her face. She's not even thinking about how badly her leg hurts or the blood, she's thinking about trying not to die! "I didn't see anything!" It's a lie, but fuck, maybe they'll believe her.

𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 until the sound of a scream broke him from it. He sits up in his bed and glances out only to see what appears to be Kie, and she's running. At first he seems baffled by this, but it's when he takes notice that someone is running after her that he gets up and he's running out of the house. Shoes? Jacket? Doesn't need it, doesn't want it, doesn't think about it.

He just goes after Kie as fast as he can worried as to what the hell is going on. Questions later, get to her first.

❝ Kiara! ❞ he yells out after her, letting her know that he's following behind her. What the fuck is even going on?! Nearly tripping he doesn't stop him from getting back up as fast as he can to rush toward where he's sure she got to. ❝ Kie! ❞

Maybe she shouldn't care as much either. If they can't accept that she's happy with Rafe, that's on 𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓶, not on her and not on her boyfriend. The hand on his neck moves to caress the side of his face as they share a kiss. God, she loves him. . . Not that she's thinking about much else than the feeling of his lips on hers, she can feel his heart thundering in his chest, but hers is doing the same thing, so it's not surprising. Breaking the kiss after a moment, she looks up at Rafe. "I love you."

𝐒𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥. Nothing is fake about her, or manufactured. She is who she is without apology. Not only does he love her, he admires her for everything she is and who she wants to be. He is learning a lot from her which includes being a better person. When she breaks the kiss and says that she loves him. He smiles, leaning close to her.

they pair had been close once. went up to bat for each other and rafe had been her protector for so long. sarah isn't sure when it turned for the worst. she can't exactly pin down a date but she knows that as they got older there seems to be a disconnect to them. looking back on it, she's sure her father had something to do with it -- like he usually did. his blatant favoritism wasn't helpful in giving the siblings a chance. neither of them are innocent though. sarah fed into that mentality of being the perfect daughter. knew she could get away with things that rafe couldn't just cause she was daddy's favorite.

this was their olive branch of sorts and like hell was sarah going to ignore it. she's not stupid, she knows it won't be fixed over night but this was the first step in a better direction.

"ooo, an eggroll sounds good too. do you want just one order or two?" she asks as she pulls her phone out with her other hand so that can start placing their order.

𝐇𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝, and he started reaching out for help. When Ward blew him off and told him simply to grow up and man up, and Rose clearly just saying 'yes something is wrong' and using it to blame him Rafe wasn't sure what to do. When in college things seemed to get heavier. The only way he could distract himself from it was to turn to drugs -- the only thing he could get his hands on that seemed to quiet the voice, lessen the pain. And everything shifted but blame was never where it should have been. On himself, or on the father he did everything he could to try to impress to no avail.

Yet he never stopped caring about his sisters, even when he and Sarah shifted in different directions. He thought he was doing what was best for them both -- though he almost killed her. His own flesh and blood ; something he'll have to live with for the rest of his life. But tonight he can put it in the back and let it hide in the shadows as he and Sarah attempt to mend those bridges.

❝ Is that a serious question? Two, always two. ❞ he says, offering his sister a smile, genuine and kind.

Unable to help herself, Georgie let out a startled laugh. It was tempting to tease Rafe about having jokes, but she didn’t want to ruin his seemingly good mood. “You know all of that happens back home too, right?” The blonde checked curiously, cocking her head. “Cape Cod is still a coastal town. Only we’re in such a weird place that we get the tail end of your hurricanes and Nor’easters. Snow squalls. Flash floods. Blizzards. School was even cancelled once when I was a kid because we got over four feet of snow in like, a day.”

❝ Oh wow, four feet of snow. However did you survive ? Did you have to walk to the store up a hill both up and down ? ❞ he asks, teasing her and tries to hold back a smile so he can keep a serious look. But he's failing about it. ❝ You get the tail end, you haven't experienced it until you're smack in the middle. ❞ and as scary as it can be, it can be a rush as well. Just watching the wind blow, the debris fly, wondering if there will be a flood or what all the winds might take down...Nature can be so destructive but so beautiful.

funny enough, juniper isn't concerned about rafe. she knows that he'd probably win if he actually went after the guy. but knowing shoupe, they'd be dragged around the hospital for injury intact and such and she just doesn't want to deal with that tonight. it was suppose to be a fun night and she's desperately attempting to hold onto that for the rest.

"if he does it again then you can beat him til your heart's content, okay? for now though, i think you and i should get out of here. maybe get so ice cream on the way." she smirks.

𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, it's just the level of disrespect this person has for him by talking to Juniper, flirting the way they were with her knowing that Rafe was right there. Cute how they try but Rafe is very sure he could take them easily enough. But not today it appears.

Tomorrow is another day, tomorrow there is a chance for them to fuck up again and get under Rafe's skin.

When given permission to go on the attack if they do it again, Rafe can agree with this. A slow nod offered as he looks to Juniper who then suggests ice cream after getting out of here.

❝ Ah, so aside from you trying to be cute, you're going to try and distract me with the suggestion of ice cream, huh? You really think that'll work? ❞ he asks, looking down to look at her.

He will sigh heavily.

𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 to be playing this game with her -- but he can't deny his attraction to her. Maybe it's the way she speaks, or the way she stands her ground. That fire in her big doe eyes. Of course he has to have an attraction to someone he probably shouldn't and probably someone he can't have. Even if he is a Cameron there are some things that they cannot get their hands on. He learned that after a small crush he had in his past. Now his focus is on Cassandra and it's not a shallow thing.

Standing in front of her, he moves his fingertips along her arm, over the sleeves of her t-shirt. Eyes focused on hers as he tries to read her. Is his attention welcome or is she about to run. He takes notice of her friends looking over, already casting judgement on him but he dismisses their gazes.

❝ Seems like your friends have already cast judgement -- I wonder what the verdict is. ❞ he teases, then glances back toward Cassandra.

❝ Though ... without touching your skin how can I be guilty as sin..? ❞ Rafe then bites his bottom lip, dropping his hand from her arm.

𝐇𝐞'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, staring at his phone hoping for a word from her, even if it's something as simple as an emoticon. Missing her is an understatement. He feels like something was pulled out of him and he's left with a hole that he can't fill. He wants to feel her with him again, arms around him. He wants her scent back on his pillow as it's currently fading almost leaving no trace of her. It's as though Mary didn't exist.

And the very thought ... he hates it.

By GOD he fucking misses her. Never did he think it was possible to miss someone this much ... But he knows she's doing what she has to. He just wishes it involved him somehow. Maybe it was all a coverup and she just wanted away from him..? No, he can't think like that as that will take him down an all too familiar road of anger.

Holding his phone he looks to her number, and he types wondering if she's watching the dots on the end of her screen.

I will wait for you. I don't know what else I can do...

His finger hovers over the send button, but...he doesn't hit it. Instead he hits the backspace. Message erased. He needs to rid himself of the temptation.

Rafe doesn't block her, but he removes her number and her previous messages even if it's with hesitation.

He wants to wait, but can he..?

the door is there for him to walk through at any moment. to show her that the rafe she grew up with. the one that wasn't so tainted by their father and unhinged can be avenged within at some point. it's a step she had no intention of making just yet but then again, she never expected a confrontation about topper would lead to the two of them opening up to each other.

she can't entirely blame rafe for his actions. their dad had a hand in it and however rafe chooses to proceed after is what's going to determine if there is any real fixing their relationship.

"settled." she gives him a small smile, before leading him back towards tanny hill. back to their home, even if tainted. maybe they can make new memories. fix what was so broken in their childhood as adults. now they just need to get wheezie away from rose.

"i've been craving some crab ragoon from that place in twn. it's been a minute since i've had it." she is trying to turn the conversation light. they can have their talks throught out all of this.

𝐈𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧 he'd hit that button in a heartbeat and start all over. Be the brother she deserves to have, be the family that they both needed. But things happened and he knows he's not right. He needs to find his footing and get so with help from the outside. Help that his father denied him -- help that he knows he should reach out for. But first, he wants to spend time with Sarah before the bigger steps are made. Maybe that'll be the push he needs, to know that there is a safety net there in case it all comes crumbling down more so than it has.

It's strange now looking at their childhood home, but like her thinks that maybe they could turn it into something better - make better memories.

When Sarah mentions the ragoon he smiles at her and he chuckles. ❝ Sounds good to me. Been a hot minute since I've had a good eggroll.❞ he tells her. ❝ Mm, and some beef and broccoli..❞ His mind now on foot and the western, he looks at Sarah and he reaches out to hold her hand.

Eyes roll shut and she leans her head to the side so that Rafe can get his lips on her neck with ease. "Mmmm." She hums lowly when he asks that question. Of course he doesn't care, never has. Kie leans into his touch. 𝓢𝓱𝓲𝓽.

When he pushes her against the wall, she opens her eyes and looks up at him innocently. "You're right, I do know you better than that." She agrees and grabs the back of his neck, pulling him in for a kiss.

He doesn't care what her friends think of him and her together, he doesn't care if they catch him with her, kissing her, touching her. He's tired of thinking about what everyone else thinks of him. All he cares about is her. So when she pulls him into a kiss he falls into it with a smile, his arms soon around her as tight as possible. He pulls her chest to chest. Can she feel his heart beating?

Maybe they're young, but she knows how she feels when she's with Rafe. She loves him and it's this all encompassing kind of love. He's done things in the past, so has she. . . they've grown and grown together. She can't imagine being without him, especially now. Kiara knows that he would do anything for her, without so much as a ask for it. . . Not many people have that in their lives.

"I love you." She tells him quietly as she breaks the kiss and looks up at him. "I promise that you have nothing to worry about, no one's even looking in my direction."

They may be young, but he knows what he feels and he feels it strongly. More so than he's ever felt anything before. He loves her with everything he is and everything he wants to be. And that's all because of her. Fuck, he's so in love he can actually feel it in ways that are not described in literature or song. What is it about her? He can't tell you, the words don't yet exist.

She says she loves him and he pulls her in for a kiss. Though he pulls away slowly and has to disagree. ❝I think you underestimate yourself, Kie. You're more desirable than you give yourself credit for. ❞ but he is hers as she is his, so if anyone were to lay a single finger on her ...

It's safe to say he'll break the whole arm.
