2016 has come to a close and we would like to say thank you for all your support. Here is a recap of 2016.
Jerry and Mike opened Boss Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. in February and instantly had great support from the community. They were able to do some great work for some amazing people.
We purchase our building in Coloma and moved in in June. We were lucky to get the building from Associated Heating & Sheet Metal when Red retired. The local community welcomed us and made us feel at home.
We hired our first employee in July. John is our salesman. We don’t really think of him as a salesman though. He is an important part of the team and his focus isn’t on making sales. His focus is on helping people find heating and air conditioning solutions and saving them money on their energy bills.
In August John drove the Boss Heating and Air sales car in the Glad Peach Parade.
We had a fantastic summer, thanks to everyone in southwest Michigan. That led us to hiring an installation team member in September. Josh is new to the HVAC world but with Jerry and Mike’s supervision and guidance he has proven to be a valuable team member.
Also in September, Mike traveled to Rhode Island to attend training at Viessmann Manufacturing.
The following month, Jerry went to Germany and France to tour the Viessmann factories there.
Darrel joined the team in October. He is an extremely talented sheet metal worker. We are glad to have him. His skills with sheet metal make the installations easier.
Later in October Jeff came on board. Since he is an active duty Marine stationed in Japan he only handles online stuff. He manages social media and our website.
As we moved into the winter months, we decided we wanted to give back to the community. After some brainstorming we came up with the idea to give away a furnace for Christmas. Mike made a flyer and put it on all our social media accounts. We advertised it in hopes of getting a lot of entries. It worked. We ended up with over 50 nominations.
Just before Christmas we hired another installation team member, Eric. We are expecting great things from him.
Then came the day to announce the winner of the furnace. Katherine, from Stevensville, was nominated by her mom. We coordinated with her mom and went to Katherine’s house to surprise her. She was definitely surprised and it felt so good to give her that Christmas gift. We are already looking forward to doing it again next Christmas.
Now that 2016 has come to an end, we are looking forward to 2017. Here are some of our expectations this coming year:
We will be launching a completely redesigned website soon. It will have tons of information for you to take in.
Jeff is retiring from the Marine Corps soon and he will be joining us full time as the Chief Operations Officer.
Giving back to the community feels good and we want you to know we appreciate your support so we are going to ramp up our volunteering efforts in 2017.
We are going to give away another furnace for Christmas.
We are hoping to continue our growth. As we grow we will need more employees. We will be looking for the best HVAC Technicians in the area to join our team.
We will close by saying thank you. Thank you for your support. Thank you for trusting us to help you with your heating and air conditioning needs. Thank you for everything you have done to make our first year in business a success.
