Hear me out, since I don't think anyone has brought this idea up.
Robby, as usual, refuses to wear a helmet. Most older men don't, honestly.
Does he know the risk? Yes. Does he ignore it, despite being very aware of the percentage of deaths and injuries that are caused by motorcycle accidents? Also yes. And Jack and Dana and Caleb pester him about it plenty, but he still refuses.
That is until he overhears a conversation between a few of the pittlings while stopping at his desk. He's not all that invested in what was being said at first, just a conversation between Mohan, Santos, Javadi, and Whittaker about a trauma that had been brought in earlier that shift-which had in fact been a motorcycle accident- from the sounds of it.
No wonder people kept bothering him about getting a helmet.
The talk goes from the trauma, to motorcycle models(which was really only fueled by Whittaker), to "bikers". The collective gaggle seemed to have their opinions, with the agreement being "bikers are hot".
Not surprising, and not of much interest. By that point Robby was about to absently shoo them off to be productive, but found himself pausing when Santos teased Whittaker into speaking up. Teasing him about what, he didn't hear, but the young man huffs and says, "I think the helmets add to the look, I guess... Its-... It's mysterious... And I guess- yeah, it's hot. The one's with the visors anyway."
"Oh yeah, definitely not the little helmets old guys that ride Harley's wear," Javadi hummed, making them all laugh.
Robby remembers himself as they disperse, the thought of where he might find a place to purchase a helmet lingering in his head as he gets back to work.
Most everyone is too relieved he finally got one to question why Robby comes in the next week wearing a new, dark blue helmet that nearly causes heart palpitations in poor Dennis.
