Wax and Steris might be peak "Me and the bad bitch I pulled by being neurodivergent" energy, but Siri and Susebron are peak "Excuse me, he asked for NO PICKLES" energy.

The survivor
Marsh: social justice warrior, takes everything so seriously, cares so much, less handsome and likable and clever than his little brother, probably clinically depressed, big parentified child energy, big nerd about magic and history and religion, universally regarded as the most boring and useless kind of Allomancer and he's very defensive about it, everyone who ever liked him even a little bit just gave up on him after an evil god of destruction made him its murder puppet, spends 90% of book 3 sitting in ash heaps feeling like shit, got rejected by a girl once and never got over it.
Like, that's a man who's never been cool in his whole life, and yet, somehow, also: leader of the whole skaa rebellion, infiltrated the Steel Ministry so well that he ascended to its highest ranks in a matter of months and never got caught, killed every other Inquisitor in Luthadel, told a god emperor "I rule your church now" to his face, "it would have taken a man of supreme will to resist Ruin even slightly while bearing the spikes of an Inquisitor" and yet he did it with TWICE that many, passes into legend as Death Incarnate.
If I could distill why Marsh is so compelling in spite of his tiny amount of page time, it's that he's such a goddamn sad sack (relatable), but he's also such a big damn hero (aspirational), and yet--and this is the critical part--his heroism brings him no personal "reward," like, ever (relatable again). We all know the story where the uncool, unpopular guy finally gets the love and recognition he deserves. That….is not the story Marsh is in.
All of his greatest accomplishments only bring him more misery and pain and isolation. Sure, you could argue that he got a bunch of extra powers and near-immortality out of the spikes, but I can't imagine Marsh would feel like any amount of power was worth a couple dozen innocent people being murdered for it, and living forever as an Inquisitor doesn't seem like a real fun time anyway. Even the religion he ends up being low-key worshiped through conflates him with his second-worst enemy, and refers to him by a kind of depressing nickname. (Meanwhile, Grifter Fantasy Jesus himself has the most popular religion on the planet. Humiliating, lol.)
So anyway, the fact that all of Marsh's incredible goodness and determination and bravery in the face of so much suffering gets him NOTHING is just very beautiful to me. Cause sometimes it be that way, you know? And though Marsh may not feel great about how his life has gone, he hasn't let it stop him from carrying on and doing the best he can. May we all be that relentless.

TOWER OF URITHIRU - Yevgen Gozhenko
March 2022 Coppermind Art Commission
For the month of March we chose to hire Jordi Rapture, an illustrator talented at depicting (among other things) all sorts of weird creatures (you may have seen this Nightwatcher or this Stormfather from a couple of years ago). Cusicesh is a notoriously difficult spren to paint, in large part because of how little detail there is to its shape, but we think Jordi gave it a very fair interpretation—faithful to the text, but also unique and strange, as befitting a one-of-a-kind spren. (We couldn’t do the shifting faces, unfortunately—turns out you really need animation for that!)
No mating! ಠ_à²
some spren and how they appear in Shadesmar; It was fun to expand on the designs of Ben McSweeney and adjusting them a bit more to my personal liking. Also I don't think I've seen a depiction of a corrupted glory spren so far, so here is one. Also, Kaladin trying to be all sneaky, but anticipationspren having none of that!
This man’s work ethic is insane wtf.
this is easily the best headline about What Happened ive seen yet but major props for using a screencap of the first 30 seconds of the video, aka when we were all convinced he was about to admit to murder
