Kinda a weird ask, but I suddenly woke up at 4:44AM. Does that number mean anything in spirituality or numerology? And I kinda see the the hour 8:31 on the clock quite often too. Not sure if this is what you can answer outside of tarot. Thank you in advance if you can.
Hey! Not a weird ask at all, actually :)
4:44 does have quite the spiritual meaning and it just so happens that I am familiar with it! The number four in spirituality is one of stability and balance. 444 often appears as a sign that you are on the right track and your angels surround you at this time. The results of your manifestations are on the way to you when you see this number often. It's a very strong indicator of personal strength and as well that the universe is with you.
I recommend checking out this post by Doreen Virtue: Angel Numbers. I love using her Oracle Card Decks so therefore I trust her with my life.
A funny story of mine personally: At the beginning of this year I had to travel while I was already quite ill. I remained bedbound for the entire trip and it was a miserable time, honestly. But I was like "Ugh this sucks, the universe has forsaken me, it's completely over and there's no coming back from this."
I was essentially despairing when I looked out the window and across the street I saw one of those big electrical boxes. On the side of it were three big number stickers which faced the house I was staying in and they read: 444. That's when I had looked up the meaning and remembered that: 'ohhhh right. I haven't been abandoned and everything is actually going to be okay.' And it was, it was just a horrible couple months to get through, but things did in fact get better!
As for the number 8:31, I haven't come across any significance to that so far. However, with a bit of research I can conclude that it indicates you are on the right path, much like 444! You've mastered something and now it's time to put that skill to use and inaugurate (I heard that word specifically) it into the world.
Here's a link to further read up on 831, if you are interested: Numerologist. It looks like it's written by a real person and not AI, but I can never tell for sure anymore đ.
oof. i hate to burst your bubble, but -
she says multiple times in many different videos that she "feels like Dr. Frankenstein" for creating angel numbers and heavily denounces it now.
aka. angel numbers aren't some complex or ancient practice - they were fabricated by one lady who "realized" that the channeled messages she was supposedly receiving were "not from angels, but demons."
this website lets you listen to the sounds of all different forests around the worldÂ
Reblogging again cause I tried this site last night and if you need background noise to focus this is perfect for that, I was locked the fuck in on a task. And itâs also just gorgeous to listen to
me, every single time i see people (especially women) talking about the divine feminine energy, or the sacredness of the womb or whatever it is now:
[image description: a two-panel photo of a person dialling a number and then placing the phone to their ear. the contact is saved as âUrsula K. Le Guinâ /end ID]
context is this quote by her:
But I didnât and still donât like making a cult of womenâs knowledge, preening ourselves on knowing things men donât know, womenâs deep irrational wisdom, womenâs instinctive knowledge of Nature, and so on. All that all too often merely reinforces the masculinist idea of women as primitive and inferior â womenâs knowledge as elementary, primitive, always down below at the dark roots, while men get to cultivate and own the flowers and crops that come up into the light. But why should women keep talking baby talk while men get to grow up? Why should women feel blindly while men get to think?
I got the Verification Required scam for the first time today. THIS ISN'T FROM TUMBLR. Report and block it if you get it.
ETA: I've gotten two more in the space of three hours this morning.
There is a new tumblr scam going around.
A scammer will mention (@) you in a comment under a post that impersonates a tumblr announcement. This post will falsely claim that your tumblr account has been restricted, and you have 48 hours to follow the link in their post to rectify it.
These comments and posts are fake.
One of the active scammer blogs is @system-blog-help.*
*(If this blog changes their url, the new urls will be added below. Please see the original version of this post for the most current list. These blogs can be monitored despite url changes if you make a side blog, then block them on the side blog. If they change their url, you will see the new url in your block list.)
Other urls: @system--data @system--updater @confirmation--page @account-confirmation @system-profile @confirm--page @verification-support22 @assist-page @system--blog @verification-support9 @notification2346 @new--notification @verification-required @help--blog---system @system---update-blog @system----blog--help @helpers-----blog @system--blog--help @system---notify @systems-blog---help
Here are some of the red flags you may see on these blogs and their posts:
None of their links in the main post go to a tumblr page (do not click on them).
They say you only have 48 hours to take action. This creates a sense of urgency and make you turn off your critical thinking skills.
Tumblr staff never reaches out to people in public for account-related things. Anything related to your account is for your eyes only and meant to be confidential.
If there are problems with your account, especially if it is time-sensitive, tumblr staff will not @ you on a post you might not even be logged in to get the notification for. Notice how you didn't actually get an email from tumblr staff about this apparent account problem; you only got the "mention" email (if you are signed up to receive emails about mentions), which any user can make.
Tumblr staff will never mention a user in a group with other users for matters related to account access.
Staff does not offer premium as an apology if they make a mistake. This is not in the terms of service anywhere.
Here are two screenshots from the offending blogs (note, these may not be exactly the same on future blogs):
You can also see two archived versions of these scam posts here and here.
If you see a blog that looks like this, report the post as "spam/bot", and the blog itself as "spam/bot".
If you have time, you may also comment "scam", or anything else that points out their intentions, on as many of their comments as you can. This slows down the scammer, as they have to either clean up your comments or block you, which briefly stops them from making as many comments to @ more people.
Tumblr also has a handy page with more info on spotting scammers, here.

I donât know which current pagan needs to hear this but your life doesnât have to revolve around your religion. Every act of self care doesnât have to be devotional, every meal you make doesnât have to lose a portion to sacrifice.
Youâre allowed to be casually religious, a âYule Paganâ if you want to steal âChristmas Christianâ from the Jesus club. Youâre allowed to dedicate a day or two to worship and just stare at the sky or ground and mutter the rest of the week.
Just because the world sees your religion as invalid doesnât mean you have to go into overdrive and let it consume every aspect of your life.
Hey everybody! I know itâs been a minute:
I just want to remind everyone (esp w summer approaching in the northern hemisphere) that when you are looking for shells on a beach that you are doing so ethically.
Many beaches currently have a shelling ban, meaning if you find one, leave it there. This is because shells greatly impact the coastline ecosystem, offering homes and latching points to many organisms, offering minerals as they break down, and creating sand in the middle of a global sand shortage.
Additionally many countries have bans on taking shells in luggage, even by car. Itâs important that you âknow before you goâ on vacation. You can look up a specific beaches laws prior to your visit, and when in doubt leave shells where they are.
For my witches: I know many posts suggest taking shells home as offerings, esp older sources, however due to the nature of the situation itâs best they are left where they are. Rather than taking them, bless them, skip them closer to the waves as offerings, make fun sigils around them in the sand before they are washed away, honor the species they came from as a muse, charge shells in sunlight or moonlight before placing them back. Ideas are infinite, so depending on what you need them for there are beach equivalents that are ocean friendly!
Finally: please donât introduce foreign materials into the water systems, buying commercial shells just to put back, adding random crystals to beaches, buying shells from beach shops (unethical to begin with) and trying to put them back. Many of these objects either are not native to the area, or have been treated for craft purposes, or like in the cases of beach stores have been brought from international sources. These shells are no longer beach safe, and risk introducing things into the water ways that donât belong.
We can respect these beauties from a distance, our water ways need us đ

Do you have any book recommendations for an absolute I-don't-know-what-I'm-doing beginner of witchcraft? Thank you!
Oh no! Lmao this is difficult đ
So...I'm kinda old. The books and primers I began with, the ones that are my favorites? They're old. And I haven't read a starter 101 book in a very long time.
These are a few I feel sort of comfortable tossing out, but you'll have to keep in mind that several of them are quite old, with out of date history, or other issues. However, if you're looking for books on how to begin practicing:
Paul Huson - Mastering Witchcraft
Doreen Valiente - Witchcraft for Tomorrow, Where Witchcraft Lives
Roger J. Horne - Folk Witchcraft, A Broom at Midnight
Aidan Wachter - Six Ways, Weaving Fate
Jason Miller - Real Sorcery, The Elements of Spellcrafting, Consorting with Spirits
Draja Mickaharic - A Century of Spells, Spiritual Cleansing
And these are just a few books on Witchcraft, there are so many out there now. Good books, bad books... but if you can walk away from a book with some new useful piece of tech, then I call it a win. And things are going to change over time as you find something to really dig into and get invested in. For example, if I were to list some of the books that have completely shaped my practice, it would go something like this:
Tain Bo Cuailgne (The Cattle Raid of Cooley)
Cath Maige Tuired (Battle of Magh Tuireadh)
Dindsenchas (Lore of Places)
Labor Gabala Erenn
Traces of the Elder Faiths of Ireland - W. G. Wood Martin
Carmina Gadelica - Alexander Carmichael
The Denham Tracts - Michael Aislabie Denham
The Fairy Tradition in Britain - Lewis Spence
Visions and Beliefs in the West of Ireland - Lady Augusta Gregory
Ancient Legends, Mystic Charms & Superstitions of Ireland - Lady Wilde
Gaelic Incantations, Charms, and Blessings of the Hebrides - William MacKenzie
Irish Witchcraft & Demonology - John D. Seymour
The Darker Superstitions of Scotland - Graham Dalyell
Folklore of Scottish Lochs & Springs - James M. MacKinlay
The Secret Commonwealth of Elves, Fauns, and Fairies - Robert Kirk
The Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries - Walter Evans-Wentz
Celtic Curses - Bernard Mees
Celtic Cosmology - Jacqueline Borsje
The Celtic Evil Eye and Related Mythological Motifs in Medieval Ireland - Jacqueline Borsje
Elf Queens and Holy Friars - Richard Firth Green

The Encyclopedia of Psychoative Plants - Christian RĂ€tsch
The Encyclopedia of Aphrodisiacs - Christian RĂ€tsch
The Witch's Garden - Harold A. Hansen
Medicinal Plants of the Pacific West - Michael Moore
Medicinal Plants of the Desert and Canyon West - Michael Moore
Pharmako/Poeia, Pharmako/Dynamis, Pharmako/Gnosis - Dale Pendell
Magical and Ritual Use of Herbs - Richard Alan Miller
The Witching Herbs - Harold Roth
... and that's not even close to comprehensive. I've read more shit than I will ever remember. And that's not counting the years I've clocked on Google Scholar, duchas.ie, academia.edu, jstor.com, the Palgrave Witchcraft & Magic series, etc etc...
But you'll notice that most of these books aren't specifically about witchcraft. In fact, most of them are folklore and superstitions, but they contain a wealth of information when it comes to magic and witchcraft, as well as building your own seasonal ritual cycle.
Tl;dr? Figure out what interests you most and read whatever you can get your hands on regarding that subject. But don't forget to actually do the work!
Bottlecap offering tealights made with leftover wax from another candle. I ordered anchored wicks and then dumped the wax in.
So far so good! I donât know how long it will burn, but oneâs going right now for Eostre, so I can let you know!
What a clever idea for those times when you are like, âI need to burn down a candle, but I donât really have time to burn down a candle!â Also good for pocket altars if you keep them and just being freaking adorable. Although I wonder if some awesome Fallout PCP spell could grow out of this (the main currency in those games is bottle caps). Now I have a use for all my beer bottle cap cast offs!
You could also paint sigils and runes on the bottom of the bottlecap. Instant charging! (And it keeps the symbols hidden should that be needed) great idea and it looks adorable.
I was thinking about making a rainbow spread based on the pride flag colours, but Interrobang Tarot beat me to it! Not only that, it's part of a free e-book with seven queer inspired spreads! Go check it out
No matter what a post on tumblr tries to tell you, your moral and ethical stances will never be determined by what you reblog and what you scroll past. Donât let manipulation tactics force you into doing anything you donât want to do.
I find it very interesting to note the times in which this post has a sudden resurgence. It often follows very stressful, upsetting events, where a lot of âREBLOG THIS OR YOU SUCKâ posts start appearing on this site.Â
So Iâll say it again: it is okay if you come to tumblr to escape upsetting news. It is okay if youâre just here for fun and fandom. It is okay if you do not want to use your tumblr as a place to read about or spread the current events that are circulating. It is okay if you need a place to decompress and just relax. There are other ways to be involved in/support causes and you are allowed to set boundaries on social media platforms without it being indicative of your belief systems.Â
Your beliefs, values, ethics, and moral stances are not determined by whether or not you reblog something.Â

Understanding the 3 Types of Sigils
Sigils are one of the most versatile tools in witchcraft, acting as symbols infused with your intention and energy. What makes sigils so effective is their adaptability, you can choose how to work with them based on your goals and needs. When deciding how to use a sigil, itâs helpful to understand the three main types: destructible, temporary, and permanent. Each type serves a unique purpose and adds a layer of magickal flexibility to your practice.Â
Destructible Sigils đŻÂ
Definition:Â These sigils are created with the intention of being destroyed, often as part of the activation process.Â
Purpose:Â Used for immediate, transformative, or highly specific goals. The act of destruction releases the energy.Â
Examples of Use:Â Â
⥠Burn a sigil for quick manifestation.Â
⥠Bury a sigil to symbolize letting go of something.Â
How-To:Â Draw the sigil on paper, charge it with your intent, and destroy it by burning, tearing, or submerging it in water.Â
Tip:Â This method is great for goals where you want to release energy into the universe quickly.Â
Temporary Sigils âżÂ
Definition:Â These sigils exist for a short time and are erased, washed away, or allowed to fade naturally.Â
Purpose:Â Ideal for ongoing but temporary needs, like a daily boost of confidence or protection during a specific event.Â
Examples of Use:Â Â
⥠Draw a sigil on your skin with makeup or henna.Â
⥠Sketch a sigil in sand or dirt before a ritual.Â
⥠Write a sigil in chalk on your door for short-term protection.Â
How-To:Â Use materials that naturally wear off (chalk, marker, or skin-safe paint). Focus on charging the sigil when you draw it.Â
Tip:Â These sigils are perfect for quick and discreet magick, as theyâre easy to create and remove.Â
Permanent Sigils đ Â
Definition:Â These sigils are created with the intention of lasting indefinitely. They are charged to continuously radiate energy over time.Â
Purpose:Â Used for long-term goals or intentions, such as protection, abundance, or anchoring a space with positive energy.Â
Examples of Use:Â Â
⥠Draw a sigil onto a piece of jewelry or altar tool.Â
⥠Paint or carve a sigil on a doorframe for home protection.Â
How-To:Â Choose a durable medium (wood, stone, metal) Ensure the sigil is charged and activated with care.Â
Tip:Â Permanent sigils require deep thought and a strong intention, as their energy is meant to be constant and enduring.Â
℠No matter which type of sigil you choose, remember that their power comes from the energy and intention you infuse into them. Whether youâre releasing energy through destruction, working with short-term goals, or embedding your magick into something permanent, sigils can adapt to your needs and bring your intentions to life. â„Â
