genuinely insane to me that bikinis are the Default swimwear marketed & sold to women. that's nylon underwear. & if you don't want to wear one people treat you like you're childish & insecure & suggest ways to "get over it"
"i feel uncomfortable with the idea of wearing what amounts to fast-drying underwear in front of other people, many of them complete strangers" "have you tried gradually acclimating to showing more & more skin? have you tried being more confident? are you ashamed of your body? don't you want to show off your beach bod?" girl what the fuck are you talking about!!!
wearing a bikini is all about confidence & self-love 𼰠but remember to wax all that icky yucky body hair first!!! 𤢠nobody wants to see that đ ââď¸
I support the heck out of ladies and feminine folks wearing whatever the heck they want at the beach or pool. Hairy/no hairy? Fine. Board shorts and a rashguard shirt? Cool. Nothing at all? Well where that's agreed upon, that is fine too! Burkini? Awesome. Swim "Binder" and bike shorts, or a g string? Rock it. Victorian "swimming costume" you made yourself out of modern spandex so it doesn't drown you? Excellent.
My personal fave is a "tankini"which is a more covered strappy top, with a pair of little swim shorts. Yes it is more coverage than anyone fashionable is permitted, but see- I DON'T CARE~
Ladies, let's hit the beach! And remember- if your friends snidely make comments about a lady on the beach and what she's wearing or not wearing? SHUT IT DOWN.
(this post includes trans women, i SAID women and I meant it)
