“i’m sorry bruno” luna said shaking her head as she took a seat on the edge of his bed “he got so mad at me like we actually yelled and fought. well like i had got a bunch of test dones after my scare and i don’t know it just came out something didn’t feel right and well yeah” she said giving him the basics of what happened. “eric do you know him? yeah turns out he is my twin like same parents and all”.
“Don’t apologize, Luns--” he watched cautiously with worry on his face. “Have you talked to him since? Maybe he just needs some time to process you know? It’s a lot to take in.” Bruno scrubbed his palms on his face, wondering if he should try and talk to his now brother in law. “Guy with the pink hair or whatever? He doesn’t like mashed potatoes. I don’t understand, he’s-- how?”

The smile on his face was practically permanent. It was hard to ever be sad around Bruno in the first place, but he was happy to see the other boy in a much better mood, back to the Bruno that Jesse knew and loved, especially when he was making dumb jokes like this. Even if sometimes, they were at Jesse’s expense. “Yeah, obviously. We should go get our ears pierced together, then get matchin’ earrings or somethin’. M’pretty sure that’s what girlfriends and boyfriends do, actually. At least that’s what my ma told me when I was lil’, that people went ‘around’ with other people, and when they were official girls gave their boyfriends one of their earring’s. Very romantic.” It took a lot to make Jesse laugh so hard that he snorted, but he couldn’t help it when Bruno gave his rendition of what was the most awful and thick southern accent Jesse had ever heard. “Oh lord, that’s awful,” he said, shaking his head, laughing so hard he was practically shaking the bed, “Stick to your accent and I’ll stick t’mine, babe. You’re not meant t’be a Georgia man unless y’get married into it.”
At the thought of matching piercings, Bruno tugged at his earlobe, genuinely contemplating the idea. "You askin' me to be your girlfriend then? Can we make it Facebook official?" He grinned but nodded, shrugging simultaneously as if to show that it wasn't the worst idea. "I've always wanted to get matching tattoos with someone, thought it'd be pretty cool right, me and Luns have sorta similar ones but theyre not the same--" He pouted, actually legitimately pouted at Jesse's words, a doe eyed look that he'd long since perfected on his expression. "I guess I'll leave the southern charm to you then."

Jesse rolled his eyes at the other boy, but it was all in good nature, he was so fond it was disgusting. “Marisol is one of the nicest people I know, she’ll kill ya if y’fuck with her, yeah, but you haven’t done anythin’ t’piss her off, have ya? And she’s my best friend but you’re, like, my other half basically. Everyone has t’be nice t’ya if they wanna be my friend.” Jesse insisted, reaching forward to tug gently at Bruno’s ear, something he couldn’t help but do when Bruno was being extra adorable. Before he even realized it, he’d joined in on Bruno’s laughter, not even sure what they were laughing about. “Y’lied?” Then his jaw dropped, genuinely offended, yet still chuckling slightly. “It wasn’t that bad at all! You’re bein’ mean t’me. I really thought it was good!”
For just a second, he felt like Bambi in the fucking springtime up in this bitch. The word twitterpated might have come to mind to anyone seeing them in action; it was clear by the look on his face that Bruno was damn near enamored with the whole situation and maybe it was the idea of all the attention he was getting or just the fact that Jesse was too good a friend for his own good but his spirits had lifted infinitely from where they'd been previously, all thought and idea that had plagued his mind. "I like that, other half, does that mean we can get necklaces? The peanut butter to my jelly, the milk to my cookies, that sorta deal, right?" He shook his head, his stomach still hurting from how hard he'd been laughing. "M'sorry, just maybe tone down the accent a little bit, we can still get ya some nice shell necklaces and call you an honorary Aussie instead. Reckon I could pull off your accent?" He cleared his throat and pulled his lips back. "Howdy y'all."

Sometimes Bruno was so shy and adorable it actually killed Jesse. The affection wasn’t anything new between the two of them but sometimes when Jesse caught Bruno by surprise, he usually could still conjure a blush or stutter out of him. It was sincerely endearing and almost killed Jesse every time. “Of course she likes yea. I’ve only said good things, and you’re so adorable people get cavities. What’s not t’like?” He asked, nudging Bruno slightly with his own shoulder. As Bruno made himself more comfortable, Jesse took this opportunity to do the same, shuffling backwards on the bed and lying down, turning his body to the side so he could still see Bruno. “Yeah, y’think so? I like t’think I’ve got a pretty good Aussie accent, I’ve been practicin’ y’know - ‘oi, g’day mate! Fancy some prawns from the barbie’ - y’all call a BBQ a barbie right?” Jesse asked, after a display of what he thought was a genuinely synthetic accent but what was actually just an offensive attempt.
Bruno simply shrugged, a small stupid little smile on his lips. "I dunno she's intimidatin' as shit isn't she? Like not even five foot tall and I swear she could kill me in my sleep, plus she's your best friend so I gotta be liked by her you know?" He cleared his throat, trying to play the whole thing off, as if he didn't have a fervent need for everyone involved in Jesse's life to like him. Totally chill and nonchalant. "Oh uh," he started laughing, small and low in his chest until it was a loud belly laugh with tears in his eyes because Jesse's accent was simply awful. "I'm sorry man, I lied to you." He clapped a hand on his shoulder, his face almost in pain from how much he was smiling. "You've been watching too many Outback commercials I reckon."
