Eddie Diaz in every episode of Season 9 +bonus Nashville
I keep seeing people talking about the Buck & Pepa moment but I haven't seen anyone point out how Pepaâs comment about Eddie and Chris' bond was yet another flag to Buck about the power of parent child relationships, which was leading up to the fostering Theo situation we have at the end of the ep. There were a few beats where we see Buck is thinking real hard about something.
The first one was the anxious parents in the hospital waiting room, the second was his convo on the roof with Harry about Athena, and the fourth him seeing all the loving parents at the party.
Like, the whole ep heâs turning it over in his brain like âI want that kind of relationship. could I have that with Theo? could I be that person for him now?â
And I think maybe weâre not supposed to take the ending as a definitive YES - itâs still a maybe, itâs still a question to be explored in s10
Hey. So, what do you think?
Every Oliver interview so far has been Oliver repeatedly saying "yes, I will personally make sure this evolves into Buck, Eddie, their teenager, and their toddler" and I love him for it.
literally what would we do without gif makers thank you gif makers THANK YOU GIFMAKERS i love nothing more than to watch a tiny moment of a scene loop over and over and over the world is so beautiful
You all need to stop pulling for a buddie first date reveal buddie established relationship cliffhanger RIGHT the fuck Now bc if we are robbed of their relationship developing when they are both Explicitly aware that they have feelings I will burn this entire place down. âBut itâs been 8 seasons!!â Iâll do you one better, I donât even want them to kiss until end of s10. I need an entire season of direct build up when they both know their feelings and donât know if acting on it would ruin things, S2 Peraltiago style. If we donât get the angst and pining and yearning of them being Aware of their feelings and trying to navigate that, After All This Time, Iâm gonna lose my shit. And you guys donât want that either!! No one wants this rushed!!! Be serious!!!! âSurprise theyâre together nowâ is a horrible way to end 8 seasons of pining!!!!!
âWhat if they both realize they have feelings in the finale and it ends with a reveal of them on a date like Bathena!!â What if I sent a plague unto your household!!
Omg buddie nation. Friends Romans Countrymen. What are we doinggggg weâre this close to the finish line and weâre stumbling!!! Get up!!!!!!
Well what weâre NOT gonna do is crash out about it, first of all.
you know what i can't stop thinking about? eddie thinking they were hatecrimed all this time and searching for buck himself cause he thought the police are bigots too and they won't help him. he thought that buck was hatecrimed and taken and maybe even murdered by a bunch of homophobic guys. and he still went searching for him. risking his life in the process. but what was his plan, exactly? i mean, it's great that he has some combat skills. he knows how to use them. and the 118 fam were helping him from home. but only up to a point. what if the "guys" overpowered him? what if buck wasn't there on time, and earl took a shot at him? because, yes, eddie as a main character of the show had the plot armor, we knew he'd be fine. but eddie THE character didn't know that. he couldn't be sure that he'll survive the entire situation. which is so interesting to me, because eddie doesn't actually have a death wish. he has a son at home. and maybe buck is willing to die for eddie and chris, but eddie wants and needs to live for chris. we've seen it in "eddie begins". how he's always gonna fight to come home to his family. we've seen over the seasons how chris is the most important person in his life. we've seen in season 5 how he was willing to stop being a firefighter to stay safe and alive for chris. but here... he was so set on finding buck, dead or alive, and bringing him home, that he was willing not only to kill someone, but to risk his own life. and that is so so so crazy to me. because if it all went wrong, chris could lose both eddie and buck that day. and eddie knew what he was risking. and he still couldn't stop. because it's buck. and i think that just shows how not expendable buck is to eddie. buck is willing to die for eddie, but does he know that eddie was kind of willing to die for him too?
This is a non-issue but I'm going insane.
Canon is anything that actually happened in the media.
Ship is short for relationship, any romantic relationship between 2 or more characters is a ship, if they get together, don't get together, if they never interacted, if they are from different medias, any potential couple = a ship.
An endgame ship is a ship that's together when the media ends. A ship is only endgame if the media is over. If there's still stuff coming out, it's not endgame yet.
A canon ship is the ship that's currently together while the media is released.
Your ship doesn't graduate from ship to endgame couple just because they kissed if there's more stuff to be released. It's still a ship, it's just a canon ship now. It will be endgame if the story ends and they are still together, until then, you don't know.
Every endgame ship is a canon ship but not every canon ship is an endgame ship. They are not interchangeable if the story is not over.
If I see someone else say "they are not a ship, they are a couple" and "they were endgame last season, why did they take it from me" I'm gonna go crazy.
You talking about your favorite character: âomg theyâre so awesome I love themâ
Me talking about my favorite character: âI want to hunt them for sportâ
i think it's important as well that buck went to chimney as his Captain. not his friend or his brother-in-law. as his Captain. which i think is because buck didn't know HOW to go to someone about this in a personal capacity. it's so clear that he Wanted to open up to eddie in the ambulance. he was desperate for eddie to look at him and see him and when eddie didn't immediately look at him he quickly swerved to Trucks. and then when eddie DID look at him and see him and notice that something was very wrong (again) buck couldn't do it. he couldn't tell him. even though he Wanted to tell him. because buck is afraid that if people See Him they'll see a screw up. they'll see someone who isn't good enough. so he Can't do it. which says nothing about eddie or anyone else but about how He views himself in his worst moments. so he goes to chimney. significantly as his Captain. says You should fire me as a way to start the conversation because he doesn't know how to do this otherwise. and chimney meets him in the middle. as his Captain. yes he's going to go through the proper channels about this. but also as his friend and as his brother-in-law who knows him and Loves him and who this changes nothing for. and that's really what buck needed. to know that the people he loves don't love him any less or think any less of him. and they didn't.
it was easier for him to ask for punishment than to ask for help.
Fuuuuuuuck. @poughkeepsiesjr
The Eddiestache (8x01-8x06)
Just to offer a different perspective piggybagging from @ryliversbuddie post about Buck possibly having agoraphobia that's making him take anxiety meds, and my own spec. We have the element of Buck hiding in the dark, also the fact that he seems to be coping if he's not alone. But also, remember during s6 when we Buck had a list of things to do to make sure he's in the real world, and we were all thinking something was gonna come from that and the way that Eddie's presence was enough for him to settle because Eddie wasn't in the coma dream, so that means he's awake. They could be playing with a more intense version of this. Also, they are heavily paralleling Eddie's breakdown arc, and Eddie's breakdown arc had the fear element. I mean, his breakdown happens in an episode with phobia in the name. Adding that, to the way the show has been inducing us to jump to a conclusion, just to find out nothing is what it seemed, this feels like a possible explanation here too.
Also, just to add to this. The show actually introduced the concept of agoraphobia following a traumatic event in 901. The Gina call with the flesh eating bacteria. She stops leaving the house after losing her baby, gives up, and eventually people stop knocking. We have her sitting in the dark and that call is solved by Buck after people both assume she's dead and it's a knife wound. The 118 part of the call also opens with Buck opening the curtains. Knowing how the show works, it could be a breadcrumb.
#i think i've seen this film before and i did like the ending
5x11 âOutside Looking Inâ -> 9x14 âDIYâ
I was worried the man I knew didnât make it out of New Mexico.
I'm just going to say that a theme for the season has been people jumping to conclusions and things not being what they seem. So, maybe we are being induced to jump to conclusions.
We are led to believe Athena is on a date, when she's undercover. Everyone thought the bus driver in was drunk, but he's not. Everyone assumes Abigail is possessed, when she's just sick. Athena assumes the best friend is the bully, it was the mother. Everyone assumes the unicorn hunters are siblings, they are not. Everyone thinks the dude was hit by a car, he was not. Everyone assumes Abigail kidnapped Chris, she didn't. Everyone assumes Abigail is stalking Eddie, she's not. The son assumes his dad is being catfished, he's not. Eddie assumes both Buck and Chim signed him up to Nashville, it was Bobby. The lady assumes her husband left to kill himself, when he's not. Eddie assumes Buck was taken for being queer, but he was not. I'm just saying.
Like, Buck thought his house was haunted, it wasn't. Everyone assumed Eddie killed Buck, but he didn't. Even everyone assuming Buck and Eddie are a couple when they aren't plays into this. Basically every major plot and a bunch of calls had the misdirect element.
âwe want to avoid the queer guy hopelessly pining for his straight best friendâ trope. and youâre avoiding said trope by having the âstraight best friendâ come to terms with the fact that he himself is queer sometime and somewhere off screen WHILE heâs having a realization that he is in fact in love with his already out queer best friend. and theyâre both pining. CINEMA!!!
