Youâre a fool if you think science is anything but a human endeavour. Politics aka the issues and ideologies we face as humans will always be apart of our science.

Vintage IWW 4 hour workday prints
Can you imagine? Would give us so much more rest and free time.
The average office worker is only productive for 3 hours a day.
Every article talking about this study talks about how bosses can squeeze more labor out of workers, or how workers can squeeze more labor out of themselves, but the reality is that the human brain only has so much capacity to focus on unpleasant tasks, and people generally wonât work more than that without the threat of force (like in manual and service industry jobs where work is easily quantified and workers are being monitored all the time to make sure they donât slack off; the threat of being fired and losing oneâs ability to eat is the threat of force). People in hunter-gatherer societies do about that same amount of work.
Have you ever wondered why the AH-64 is called âApacheâ?Â
All U.S. Army helicopters are named after either the names of Indigenous nations, or leaders thereof (Apache, Comanche, Chinook, et cet). This regularity is nowhere near accidental.
The following is the most interesting fragment of the U.S. Armyâs Aviation Digest from March 1977, whose last two pages contained a contest form for naming the UH-60 helicopter known today as âBlack Hawkâ:

To any trans women and transfeminine followers of mine, did you know thereâs a pretty huge Etsy store which does gaff underwear and swimsuits specifically designed for trans people amongst its products? They go in a pretty decent range of sizes, including sizes for young girls, and while I do not personally know anyone who has used them, thereâs a fuckton of positive reviews on the Etsy store. They have a ton of colours to choose from, different fabric choices, the works.
And for once theyâre not marked âfor crossdressersâ too, they actually under âtransgenderâ, so thatâs (depressingly) unusual.
Iâm mostly posting this because Iâve seen a lot of younger people recently in particular saying they never knew what gaffs were⌠a lot of people find them WAY MORE comfortable and convenient than tucking, so I would recommend looking into them if youâve never done so before!
And even if you yourself donât use or need this stuff, do pass this kind of info on to any friends of yours that might, guys! Thereâs always like a million more PSAs about transmasc stuff as opposed to transfem stuf tbhâŚ
You need.. you need to unmuteâŚ

When we talk about appreciating and learning about cultures as some kind of gateway into accessing them, weâre removing the input of the humans who create and keep the culture alive. Appreciating the culture means joining the community. Itâs more than just adding an Om sign to your Bio or identifying as Buddhist, itâs pitching in, learning your ropes around the traditions, participating in ALL activities with the community, not just picking and choosing what you like. It means addressing the good aspects of a culture, but also being an ally to those trying to reform the bad parts and being an ally in your larger area to those fighting for the right of the community to exist (because if you truly appreciated and were welcomed into a culture, youâd see how hard minorities all over the world have to fight for systemic recognition of their way of life and support to stay afloat) If youâre not willing to join a community and take ALL the good and bad that comes along with it, keep your hands out of that communityâs culture. #reclaimthebindi
Chance the Rapper is reportedly turning down some very generous record label offers after he achieved a historic win at the 2017 Grammy Awards. The New York Post reports that the Chicago MC has turned down offers worth up to $10 million, after he beat Drake and Kanye West to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
Staying independent,Â
raising 100k for coats for Chicago kids,Â
hosting open mic events for Chicago teenagers,Â
giving the music away for free and still making a substantial life off tours and merch.Â
When we say âindependentâ that just means he doesnât have a label telling him what tracks he can and cannot put out. Like, he just has total creative freedom.

Watch: Itâs your right to share your salary, not doing so could be holding you back.
At my last company, one day someone in accounting approached me at lunch and quietly told me I need to ask for a raise because I was way underpaid.
They gave me a number to shoot for. Â It was about twice than what I had been making at the time.
So I went online, did some research, found some figures backing up my claim, put it all together and went to my boss.
I got what I asked for.
If it hadnât been for that person in accounting telling me I was way underpaid, Iâd have never known. Â I went from barely scraping by to being able to have a savings account and getting all my debts paid thanks to them.
You should at least check sites like salary.com to start the process of seeing what you should be making.
Because this is crucially important
I have no idea how to tag this but itâs important.
Also, as nice it would be to yell at your boss about this, donât walk up to them and go âso-and-so told me theyâre making more than me for the same job.â In the U.S firing or punishing someone for talking about their wages is illegal, but that doesnât mean it still doesnât happen, so make sure to cover your and your coworkersâ butts.
Instead, do research on the industry like Annakie said. Find sources on what you should be paid. Give those to your boss to make it seem like you came to this conclusion through educating yourself.
