@buddyfriendpal
hi!
thinking about how many moms in the world have had to wash their son’s meninist shirt
According to anti-SJ blogs “SJWs” are both ineffective 15-year old keyboard warriors and powerful forces who brainwash entire industries into pandering to them
me: *mentions something that worries me*
person: wow! there are more important things to worry about!
me: i'll have you know i'm capable of worrying about everything
remember when FIFA was investigating FIFA for corruption and FIFA concluded that FIFA was innocent
This is a world I need
I may be betraying national secrets, but I will explain a cheeky Nando's even if it gets me killed.
imreallybad:
bisexual people passing as straight when they’re in a straight relationship is not “passing privilege.” it’s erasure. it’s assimilation.
that’s like saying that femme lesbians have privilege over butch lesbians. invisibility might keep people safer on a micro-level which is fucked up, but it’s all based on people thinking they can tell who’s queer & who’s straight just by looking at them, which is infinitely problematic and painful.
don’t alienate queer people who are assumed to be straight. invisibility is a symptom of hetero-normativity, not a privilege.
i’m still so mad at this and also why would you decide poison ivy is a nurse you bellend
not to be ladphobic but I think ppl who go for a bit of cheeky nandos in public are disgusting :/ It’s adam and eve not banter with steve
americans can’t understand this picture
You know what I really don’t like?
When in movies or whatever the dad figure has to leave, or dies, and he tells the little boy to ‘take care of your mother, you’re the man of the house now’
yeah
so basically we are framing grown ass women to be more incompetent than a (male) child?
and don’t tell me it’s just meant to make the son feel better about the dad leaving/dying because WOW that’s a lot of pressure to put on a kid don’t you think
SOMEBODY SAID THE THING FINALLY
Thank you!!!
“Son, you’re six years old now. You’re the man of the house while I’m gone. That’s right. Your maleness outranks the experiences and intelligence of a 35 year old woman.”
yooooooo
Your professor will not be happy with you if he says the Stanford Prison Experiment shows human nature and you say it shows the nature of white middle class college-aged boys.
Like he will not be happy at all.
For real though. That experiment. Scary shit.
someone brought that up once and my teacher (can’t remember which one) was like
no
nonono
This reminds me of a discussion that I read once which said Lord of the Flies would have turned out a hell of a lot differently if it was a private school of young girls (who are expected to be responsible and selfless instead), or a public school where the children weren’t all from an inherently entitled, emotionally stunted social class (studies have shown that people in lower socioeconomic classes show more compassion for others). Or that the same premise with children raised in a different culture than the toxic and opressive British Empire and it’s emphasis on social hierarchy and personal wealth and status. And that what we perceive as the unchangable truth deep inside humanity because of things like Lord of the Flies and the Stanford Prison Experiment, is just the base truths about what happens when you remove any accountabilty controlling one social group with an overwhelming sense of entitlement and an inability to feel compassion.
^could never have put it better. bolded for emphasis.
funny thing is that if those studies had been done with women or the working class or non-white folk etc is that then it would be seen as studying that group specifically rather than “humanity”. because white wealthy men are the default.
the tories are like u2 in that they’re the most popular but you don’t actually know anyone who likes them
this is actually v similar to the time i woke up with u2’s album on my itunes when i categorically didnt want it
Not all girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Some girls are made of sarcasm and wine and nothing is fine.

I don’t understand people who vote Tory – they’re a complete mystery to me. Lots of people do it, and I’m sure some of them do it based on deep-held instinctive belief, but it just doesn’t make any sense to me. I don’t understand how you can be alive in the world and have the experience of being a human being and not have empathy for other people who are in a less fortunate situation. How can you not want a society in which everyone has a chance and as few people suffer as possible? It just seems so obvious to me. You could say that dispute is part of the rich tapestry of human experience, but I’m mystified by people who hold any other viewpoint.

what she says: i’m fine what she means: i am consumed with pure terror at the prospect of another five years of tory government
