Fallen down
Reminder that spring will always come back, music will never stop being created, and there are still so many books left to read! You’re alive! You’re alive! You’re alive!
my favorite fandom thing is when ppl draw their favorite character as a little animal. yes put the face of that 50yr old man in the body of a teeny little puppy. yes draw that evil ass character who has destroyed hundreds of lives as a chiikawa. i love you.
I should start posting franz kafka style diary quotes but it’s from my journal from when I was 11/12 and obsessed with naruto

How to spot a ‘fake’ gamer
Frequently pronounces video games as “Blideo Bames”
Will often say “I need help passing this level it’s really hard” then when you look at their screen it’s running Microsoft Excel 2007
They invite you over to their place to check out their game collection and it’s just every season of Frasier (still impressive)
Their Xbox One is actually a series of tissue boxes glued together with the word “NINTEMDO” painted over it
When you ask their favourite video game they respond by doing a series of skillful backflips, temporarily distracting you from having asked the question in the first place
Keeps a secret diary with “I HATE VIDEO GAMES AND I NEVER PLAY THEM” written on every page
fun fact about character development by the way. you can make them develop worse.
like I mean this very seriously as writing advice. the character should experience events and make decisions that make them different at the end of the story. they should be changed. they do not have to be improved.
they can get worse. they can make decisions of an increasingly terrible nature. they can stop taking risks on kindness. they can discover how much they can get away with. they can find religion, or abandon it, with negative effects on their moral creed. the character has to develop. the character does not have to grow.
me whenever I see posts about how canon is shit and can be discarded

These days, lots of public libraries have a "library of things" collection where you can check out kitchen appliances or yard tools or toys, and, as a children's library assistant, the most popular library of things item that I handle regularly is a plastic scepter thingy called like "unicorn princess magic wand". And whenever I check it out I make a big show of looking at the little kid and being like "do you solemnly swear to use your unicorn princess magic powers only for good and never for evil?"
And pretty much without fail, the little kid will get the world's most mischievous grin and go "I'm gonna use it for EVIL!!!"
MAGA boomers SHOCKED by 20y/o commie speaking fluent hog
Hog 201 for anyone interested in trying this:
Bodily autonomy (like abortion, anti draft, etc) -> “The government shouldn’t be able to force anything on my body I don’t want.”
Anti surveillance -> “I don’t trust big government/big tech (big brother if you’re feeling frisky) with the ability to spy on me and my family.”
Immigration -> “Next to all of us immigrated at some point, I don’t see why the elites get to decide who’s allowed to be where. What’s to stop them coming for me?”
Climate Change -> “Big oil shouldn’t get to determine whether or not I get to go places. I don’t want to be dependent on some big business to survive.”
State Violence -> “I don’t want the goddamn secret police breathing down my neck! I trust my community a whole hell of a lot more to help me than I do the state!”
The vast majority of conservatives think of themselves as underdogs being repressed by the government/the elite, and they value personal freedom (specifically their personal freedom, they don’t care about other people). The will almost always agree with leftist points if you can find a way to blame the problem on their vague enemies (useful, since rich people are the root of most problems), and tie it back to their ability to say fuck everyone else. NEVER appeal to science, theory, logic, or human goodness. Make it seem as if you are a paranoid lunatic who trusts no one. They love it.
#you need to tailor your arguments to people's existing values and priorities if you want to convince them #the flip side is that it's every bit as easy to tailor conservative arguments to convince a leftist audience #so don't get smug #you're not immune to this either <- prev extremely true
Also people being obsessed with Greek mythology as kids wasn’t invented by Percy Jackson. My dad read the Iliad and the odyssey in high school because one of his friends was super obsessed with Ancient Greek lit and he was like “well I can’t let him be smarter and more well read than I am I’ve gotta catch up”
