Advice For People Making Positivity Posts About Trans Guys
cw: mention of biological sex characteristics
Don’t: Use the word “period” for the love of god… we have dysphoria for a reason? Mentioning the thing that women do is triggering as fuck because it makes us remember what’s going on down there and what our bodies do and we don’t want to remember this, at all. We’re not meant to be doing that, so just stop.
Do: Use “monthly”/“sharkweek”
Don’t: Refer to our CHEST as “breasts”. Again, this is triggering as fuck. None of us want to be reminded of the fact that we have breasts. Stop using female terms to refer to our body, please. Yes, our body is what it is and we do have a female body we know this, we’re not indenial, but using terms that are commonly associated with women when we are not women is not okay. Just stop.
Do: Use the word “chest”
Don’t: Call our private parts “vagina”… oh my god. Why does this need to be said, really like, why would you even say that at all. I honestly can’t say anything that I haven’t already said.
Do: Use “down below”/“privates/private parts”/“penis”/“bottom area”
Don’t: PUT ATTENTION ON OUR BODY PARTS. We don’t want to hear things like “to the guys with big hips”, “to the guys with feminine/high voices” and “to the guys with curves" etc. It is just focusing on the fact that our body is this way and we’re trying as much as possible to make our body what it should be.
These things are all examples of social dysphoria that can trigger sex dysphoria. Please. I’m on T and this shit still annoys me because I remember seeing this all pre-T and it made me so dysphoric. You’re just hurting other guys. Words are words, true, but they still hurt especially when we have dysphoria about these parts. Guys don’t want to come across a post that’s meant to make them feel good, read the first line and it says “To the guys with large breasts you are valid!” get that out of here! You are being so inconsiderate to what we suffer with and if you are trans, maybe tone it down and think about other people?
Reminder: we are not women, so stop talking about our parts in female terms.
Before I get that one person, obviously if you are speaking medically/giving medical advice then yes, there is no way around this but any other time, work around it. I’m sorry if this post has come across harsh but legit, it needs to be said.
But also? These things differ depending on who you’re talking to. It’s okay to normalize the idea that some men have PERIODS, some men have BREASTS, some men have VAGINAS, and some men have feminine features (trans and cis men, okay?). I refer to myself, my body parts, and my bodily functions using all of those terms. None of those terms are assigned only to women and none of them are inherently “feminine”. So. Maybe stop with this hardlined STOP STOP STOP stuff unless you are referring to yourself individually.
This post does not represent the feelings of all transmen or transmasculine people.
nake no mistake, these monuments are not war memorials set up after sherman went home. these monuments were largely erected in response to the civil rights movement.
It isn’t complicated.

Heart attacks symptoms are different for women. I recently learned this.
Everyone should know these things.
thanks to mainstream media and being unable to show breasts on TV, way too few people know about female signs of cardiac distress, and impending heart attacks. they only know about the “pain in the left arm” male symptom.
i had all these symptoms once and they sent me right to hospital
it was scary bc i didnt know these were the symptoms for female heart issues
Please, please, PLEASE, reblog this. i don’t know if I did save or called false alarm, with my boss’ life tonight. I felt I was being a bit paranoid, overreacting, but I told Mirage my thoughts and he, after reading over the article I showed him, immediately sprung into action and then shooed her off to the hospital. I don’t know if I did or not, but I knew she’d been super stressed. She’d off-handedly commented on her arm tingling and I asked her if she felt queasy on a hunch. I went to look at the symptoms and we went from there.
Holy shit, I didn’t even think the symptoms would be different between men and women. This is so hugely important and I don’t understand why we aren’t taught this.
One of the other symptoms that doesn’t get talked about , especially in women, is a “feeling of impending doom”. I am not even kidding, that is a legitimate diagnostic criteria. Please - if you are feeling any of these symptoms and a sudden onset of “Holy shit the world is ending” do not let anyone tell you it’s “just nerves” or “just heartburn” or something.
Keep these in mind ESPECIALLY IF YOU’VE GOT HEART DISEASE IN YOUR FAMILY! So many more women die from heart attacks than because they don’t recognize the symptoms when they’re so different. Please stay safe and stay informed.
And for trans people, typically even if you’ve been on hormones you will still get the symptoms of your birth sex, so watch out for that
boost this
I was literally about to ask which way the symptoms show for transpeople.
