I give permission to anyone who reads my works as the author to :
1. Translate my works.
2. Create podfic of my works.
3. Create fanart or any type of creative fanwork (Such as poetry, music, or other art forms)directly about my works, so long as ai is not used.
4. Write inspired works. (Such as being inspired by the plot, tropes, or situations in my fic, exploring another character POV, exploring before, during, or after, fics diverging at some point from the plot of my work)

The amount of people who like dallas just because of his movie appearance and defend his actions sicken me, because Dallas is such a great representation of a complex character and I think a lot of people look past that.
HEAVY ON THIS ONE. I feel like a lot of people tend to portray him as either Irredeemable or just a traumatized boy, polarizing him into one or the other and completely skipping over important parts of his character, when he has potential to be so much more than that

This is fanart for @sister-dear’s fic My Heart’s Forsaken Me. I love the fic so much! There are so many good scenes to choose from when it comes to drawing. However, I especially enjoyed the juxtaposition of this scene where Wars is trying to have a serious conversation with Sprite and Link and Four are just,, lighting fires in the background.
In retrospect, one thing I kinda like in ATLA is how Zuko never tells the gaang how he got his scar.
It would have been cool to see their reactions to Zuko's story and see how their perspective on Zuko changed. And I have no doubt that he tells them about it at some point. But this way, it doesn't come off as emotional blackmail, with him trying to paint his actions as 'Yes, I hunted you across the world, but I actually had a really good reason."
If he did, he might have had a better chance of joining the Gaang, but he doesn't. In traditional Zuko fashion, he takes the most challenging route possible.
Zuko takes full accountability for his actions, even though they came from a place where he felt he had no choice. Because at the end of the day, he realized that even though his father put him on his avatar's path, he was the one who zealously attacked them at every opportunity. He isn't letting himself off the hook for anything.

LIE. #its so fucking funny bc the gaang is like 'zukos EVIL he is PLAYING you' guys zuko doesnt know how to do that. #full honest truth confessing insane shit in front of them. he didnt even gaf about being friends or being FORGIVEN it was abt the goal #'i need the avatar to take me into their group so i may aid in however possible to stop my father' that was the goal. truly was like #'take me as a prisoner if this is the way i can help' HES CRAZY (@ponytailzuko)
this is why "The Gaang Learns How Zuko Got The Scar (Avatar)" is a canonical ao3 tag with 404 fics in it.
(at least, I see 404 fics when I look at that tag, at this current moment. The true number may differ if I've unknowingly muted an author who wrote one of these or something.)

Writing or reading about something illegal does not mean the author nor the reader condones it, if that were true, you could never read a story involving anything negative

Honestly the internet used to be a place where you knew how to seek out your own niches and interests, there weren’t just 3 primary apps where everyone had to shove their shit into to get any attention or community. If you came across something you didn’t like, you moved on because it wasn’t for you.
honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before
