Oh media about adults having to face whether their 12 year old selves would’ve approved of their life, it’s just you and me against the world
#media about looking at how far you deviated from your values and who you were as a child#understanding that just because your life now doesn’t reflect your conventions of success you had at 12 doesn’t mean it’s worse#sometimes success looks different and unconventional#but also it’s never too late to change who you are a grow if you are unhappy#but also that success doesn’t have to be what they tell you you should strive for; you can be happy without achieving what you hoped and#you can achieve everything you wanted and still be unhappy#idk it’s just that intimacy of who you thought you should be vs who you are and trying to rectify those two parts#and come to a place of understanding and acceptance that allows you to move forward and grow#rather than destroying yourself and living life in a way that will leave you unhappy#< prev tags#if you squint#bobs burgers#bob belcher#more his kids terrorizing him for his life choices but still lots of flashbacks about who he was as a child and what he wanted vs now#these flashbacks will be the focus of his whole section in episodes#and even inspiring growth in non career or parenthood ways like overcoming childhood fears to grow as a person#and also about whether he views himself as successful and what that means to him vs those around him
