Happy Pride!
i drew jax in a dress to cope with the finale 🥲
closeups
Jax literally killed himself in the circus after making the other two openly queer people around him - a nonbinary person and a non-straight woman - the targets of some of the worst of his externalized self hatred and queerphobia.
But in real life, in the physical world, she's at Riley's bar. She's surrounded by other queer people. He killed himself but she's alive in a place hosted by the nonbinary person he resented. She has the community of other queer people that he rejected.
I wonder if Goose meant anything by this.
on twitter, in response to something like “transfem jax is a harmful stereotype of trans women because jax a bad person, and Gooseworx is a bad person because Jax is her self-insert” someone said that jax is very clearly an example of what goose thinks would have happened to her if she had never come out/embraced herself as a woman. and i think about that a lot
jax’s story is about queer survival, and part of that story is the fact that without community, not everyone survives
EXACTLY
As many people have pointed out too, Pomni was originally going to be voiced by Goose's sister. There's something profoundly emotionally important in the fact that Jax is the closest to a self insert character for Goose and that the character that advocates for Jax the most and sticks by him through everything is connected to her sister.
It baffles me how people cannot understand the underlying message there. It feels so on the nose and obvious.
marissa talking about this exact thing btw
Please stop he is drowning.....
Gone forever
I redrew this picture of the cast as the characters
also I’m seeing the movie today AAAAAAAA ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
