Though the North is known for its great and terrible monsters, the South is home to some pretty strange and fearful animals as well. The key difference is simply that the landscape of the Southern Kingdom allows its people to live around its wilderness in relative comfort, while the Northern Kingdom's settlements are dotted throughout. Jungles and marshes can be avoided; the tundra is everywhere.
The South's fauna is influenced by both the Middle Kingdom to its north and the Mainland continent to its south. Thus, it is home to many unique animals not seen elsewhere on the peninsula. Because of this, it is not unusual for common terms to take on other meaning in the South - for example, the foxes and vultures familiar to the North are vastly different animals to those of the South.
A common bit of oft-repeated "wisdom" is that the only animal a Southerner will not eat is one which is poisonous. While this is an exaggeration, it holds a grain of truth in that the South is accustomed to bushmeat the Midland would consider unconventional. The orcs and rabbits of the South are small, hardy creatures less palatable than their kin in the Middle Kingdom, and there is little land suited for animal agriculture. It behooves a Southern huntsman to be opportunistic, especially the further he lives from fishable waters.

I made some brushes to help me painting intricate architectural details with minimum effort, and at first this painting was just to try them out but I got carried away...
I didn't planned anything here, just pure experimentation, testing things out, having fun, intuitively building details in, I really enjoy working a bit mindlessly like that.
would love to dive more into dark fantasy aesthetic, been drawing that a lot, I need to world build a bit more I think !
