Hello! I'm new to the fandom, and Very Anxious to be posting, but I just wanted to throw this out there:
Clegan Firefighter AU, where John and his firehouse go to Wyoming and volunteer to help the local firehouse get a handle on a raging wildfire out there. Naturally, he takes One (1) look at firefighter Gale and proceeds to chase after him like a dog after a bone (John is so dog-coded it makes me insane, ok).
I'd love to hear your thoughts/headcanons! :)
Something to propose as someone who lives here in Wyoming, Gale as a Wyoming Hotshot
Gale is born and bred for grueling hikes at higher elevations and constructing firelines, clearing vegetation and making trenches before performing control burns.
Bucky is not, spent his whole life living just above sea-level and is your average city firefighter—structure fires, car accidents, and medical emergencies.
Bucky’s fire department travels to help the Hotshots during a rough wildfire season in the Big Horn Mountains and each Hotshot gets a partner to show the ropes. Gale obviously gets paired with Bucky, grumbling something about John keeping up with him before he sets out to get to work. Bucky’s red faced, sweaty and breathing hard, but keeps up with a grin and yaps relentlessly. He’s already designated Gale as ‘Buck’ and flirting relentlessly.
Gale blames the hot weather for the flush on his cheeks.
