the thing about netflix cancelling shows after three seasons is that like, if they were just honest about that upfront, the folks making the shows could plan for it. three seasons is enough to tell a fairly complex story, and then instead of unceremoniously cancelling shows in the middle of a story arc, they can just…….end. in a thematically appropriate way. and the creators can tell new stories if they want. 

because like, if constantly churning out new content is what netflix is going to focus on because that’s what brings in new subscribers, then just do that then??? don’t be all cagey about “oh well this show was too expensive to renew” or “there’s not enough interest” or whatever nonsense excuse.

like just be honest and actually make good content

i just had an experience i dont think anyone else on earth has ever had before where i saw a tumblr ad and thought “wow that seems interesting i want to check that out” (it was an ad for a new method of learning to speak welsh) and for the first time in human history i actually intentionally clicked on an ad on tumblr to see more information about a product and the fucking link it had embedded was broken and didnt work

I wonder. I was watching this documentary on a serial killer who, as a 15 year old, killed his grandparents because he “wanted to see what it was like to kill grandma” and then didn’t want his grandfather to be alone and murdered him. He was tried as a child and had his record expunged.

But a young black girl can be tried as an adult for killing her rapist.

I wonder what I would find if I looked up statistics of being tried as an adult and race. Given how often poc children are treated with inherently less empathy and seen as adults.
