So, I'm asking this question genuinely with no snark or sarcasm attached just to be absolutely clear. How do I best advocate for a reduction of Universes Beyond sets in Magic (from the 50/50 average, I understand 2026 is a specific outlier)? I understand the majority disagrees with me, but I want to know the most effective way to keep making the case.
The most effective thing you can do is purchase, play, and talk about the things you enjoy. The metrics we pay the most attention to (other than market research) are sales, play, and online discussion..
The straight truth is there isn’t a great way to voice what you don’t like. Our actions are driven but what players actually do more so than by what they say they don’t do. The thing that will drive down Universes Beyond percentages is data showing its metrics are lagging. When people stop buying, playing, and talking about Universes Beyond, we’ll do less of it.
The other side of the coin is if in-Multiverse sets start regularly hitting higher metrics than Universes Beyond products, that will encourage us to increase their percentages.
My best advice is to be the consumer you want Magic to cater to. If enough people do the same things you do, it will prompt change.
