There really are not words strong enough to describe the absolute lack of any logical foundation, or consideration for any person or any issue inherent in the idea of not voting because you “hate Joe Biden” or because you’ve suddenly become a one issue voter and haven’t bothered to develop a real understanding of the one issue that is allegedly animating you.

The absolute worst I can say about Joe Biden is that he’s not kicked Merrick Garland in the nuts for every day Trump spends outside of jail.

Not doing enough for Roe? Roe was a fucking SCOTUS case, packing the court didn’t even work for FDR, and the only reason the court is 6-3 conservative hacks is because a bunch of idiots decided Hillary wasn’t worth voting for in 2016.

Israel/Palestine? Biden has demonstrated he’s willing to apply political pressure to at least alleviate the effects of the war. Trump would go ‘yeah Israeli far right, go ahead and genocide all those Arabs, heck yeah’.

We all knew 2024 would be Trump/Biden unless Trump ended up in prison or one of them died. Trump isn’t in prison and neither of them are dead.

Your job, if you have basic pattern recognition and reasoning skills, is to fucking vote for Biden and as many Dems as far-left as you can get them to go. That is the only way we’re making progress. You want more? Show up to vote in enough numbers to drown out the boomers.

Not to get emotional on main but I’ve been looking in second hand stores for sewing patterns, and I always find lying next to it a basket of handmade doilies, jumpers, quilts, and it’s almost more than I can bear. I knit, I crochet, I’ve given most lace types a go so I know the painstaking time that goes into each piece, and it feels so cruel to see them and to be offered them for two dollars fifty, two dollars fifty for a year of a woman’s life devoted to what she loved. I’ve been recreating my grandmother’s lace, hoping I can find in a missed stitch the connection I missed before her memories failed. But among her projects is a yellow tablecloth, 6 segments of crocheted lace, the 6th unfinished. I don’t even know if there was meant to be a 7th. You find the same in op shops, crocheted granny squares and sets of just 7, rewound wool still holding the shape of a ghost of a project. I like to imagine it holds something within it, something I could reach if only I picked it up and finished it. I wish I had time, to repair a thousand womens crafts, but I’m so short on time, so busy with projects I only hope will sit next to the work of these artists when I pass.
