With all due respect here, but making the conscious decision to cheat on your loving girlfriend and then romantically pursuing her bestfriend the very next day with no consideration for the girlfriend’s feelings, as well as not taking no for an answer from said bestfriend of said girlfriend for that matter is a-okay? What Miles did was fucked up, but it’s nowhere near on par with what Zig did. Miles said something he did not mean in the heat of the moment and felt bad about it afterwards. Zig ACTIVELY cheated and had no regrets. I am not meaning to demonize Zig here either, but I just don’t see how it’s fair he gets cut all this slack, while Miles is shit on for one mistake that he will most likely apologize for in the next episode.

With all due respect here, I completely understand that, but I felt inclined to shed some light on the issue of double standards in this fandom using Miles versus Zig as just one example, since god knows this fandom is overridden with them. Don’t take this to mean I am referring to you or anyone specifically — I am speaking in only the most general of terms here, but the DTC has an extreme tendency to shit all over specific characters for their mistakes while failing to apply the same standards to other characters. Now while Zig hasn’t been shown to slut-shame anyone, I don’t see how cheating isn’t on par if not worse. For the record, I am not defending Miles’ slut-shaming of Maya. I don’t condone it whatsoever, but I find it somewhat ironic how Miles gets excessively shit on for this, while Zig is made out to be some sort of prince by comparison. Now I frankly think cheating followed by this ideation that you can just swap your girlfriend for her bestfriend the next day exposes a chauvinistic mindset a lot more than a comment said in passing out of vindictive jealousy, but well, maybe that’s just me. Why does Zig get brought into this you ask? Because while Miles is being made to be the spawn of Satan for his one shitty comment, which I reiterate, he is remorseful for and will likely apologize for, Zig is made out to be so much better by comparison when memory serves that he can be just as much of an asshole. That is what I am saying. EDIT: And of course Tumblr totally glitched out.

Wow, this is actually a ridiculously long reblog but I was pagecatching and jesus fucking christ. This isn't an argument that Zig should be brought into at all. Zig is completely and entirely unrelated to this conversation, because I don't know if you've missed anything in the DTC over the past year, but Zig wasn't made out to be a wonderful character at all. If anything, he recieved a fair amount of hate, and while he is treated differently now, it's because quite frankly, his character deserves it. After time, he apologized for his actions and was entirely remorseful - something Miles has yet to be. I'm not saying that he won't be at any point in the future, but as of this moment, we can only judge him based on what we see. And so far, we haven't seen a damn bit of remorse from his character at all, so don't say that he doesn't deserve every bit of commentary he's gotten. And again, Zig is entirely irrelevant to this conversation because a) he's shown remorse for his actions and taken responsibility, and b) he's barely gotten any screentime lately so idk what standards can be applied to him except a standard of non-existence tbh.

So your argument is completely pointless, because unless you've missed the last half of season 12 where we were treated to multiple instances of Zig actually giving a shit about what he'd done, to Cam, Tori, and Maya, we're dealing with a completely different situation here.
