ok not to be adhd on main but if you even JOKINGLY make fun of me for my interests thats it. i wont ever be able to trust you again because im positive youre constantly judging me and making fun of me behind my back. thats just the way it is!!
to all the people vaguing people in the tags: get better friends
it ABSOLUTELY is, adhd and autistic experiences overlap so so much and i have both so this post is solidarity
If I may add, as an ADHD person if you insult (even jokingly) something I enjoy, I will no longer enjoy that thing as much. Every time I watch that show you called cringe I remember that you did that. You said the writing was unfunny, so now I don’t laugh at the jokes as much, even alone, and I feel like I shouldn’t enjoy it anymore if it’s bad. (And then I also believe you think I’m unfunny and my sense of humor is just bad) So I have to rationalize “Ok I know this part is awkward but I like it a little sometimes” in my head to justify my enjoyment, and that just makes the whole experience less fun. I’ll never express strong interest in something around you again.
Sharing hyperfixations is a VULNERABLE act of trust, and if it goes badly, we just go right back to being ashamed of being happy.
it actually isn't just ADHD & Autism that overlap. There are also a few chronic mental illnesses that overlap in signs as well. For the longest time I thought I had either Autism or ADHD. I did hours & hours of deep research. I finely talked to my therapist about it. She had me take this really long test & the results pretty much confirmed the diagnoses she had been working on. Turns out I have BPD. In fact it’s not exactly uncommon for girls who are Autistic to first be misdiagnosed with BPD or Bipolar due to the overlapping signs. Anyway, I tend to have special interest as well. I will hyper-fixate or hyper-focus on topics or activities. Often my mom gets annoyed when I talk to much about my current interests... it’s something I still talk about, but as soon as I catch even a hit of annoyance, I kind of just shut down & stop talking about it. It sucks & I hate feeling guilty for my interests.

are you telling me americans have stores that open up SPECIFICALLY for halloween and just. dont exist any other time of the year. you people are insane
Imagine an empty storefront. Some business that closed years ago. The building stands empty, unused for literal months. And then boom. Fall comes around and there’s a Spirit Halloween. There’s no escape.
what the fuck 😁
Yeah this is a thing
Are you serious
Yes and they are divine gifts of beauty and cheap plastic lawn decorations.
… I honestly assumed that the existence of Halloween stores was just a running joke in American TV shows.
No they’re very real
Can confirm this phenomenon also occurs in Canada
It’s fun
Oh, it’s a blast.
Wait, so during non-halloween they are just empty? Like, they don’t switch between seasonal decorations (like christmas, easter, etc), they just…close and wait for next year???
Yeah, it’s not a permanent store. A company will rent an empty building for the 2-3 months before halloween, sell halloween stuff, and then clean everything up and disappear until the following year. And they’ll usually set up in different buildings from year to year. They just find any good-sized empty store space that will give them a cheap, short-term lease.
It’s so temporary that the halloween stores don’t even have a real sign, they just hang up a banner outside:
So you’re telling me that every year for a month or two the Spirit of Halloween possesses a dead building then disappears?
that is exactly what we’re telling you

Something I absolutely love is humanity. Culture, tradition, religions… there is something astoundingly beautiful in the way people worship their God or God's. And then there's emotion… joy, love & even anger & grief. It's all passion. It's often love & grief that lead to battles for peace & unity. That's what I love about humanity. The drive for peace.
But i must admit, I also hate humanity. I often time's have absolutely no faith in it. Despite the many righteous battles, many wars are fought out of simple greed & masked with intentions of peace & love. The lack of empathy & compassion in this world kills me inside.

I don't typically share stuff like this but...
Okay, here me out.... what if the future is already happening and we're just living out the past?
Like hypothetically time travel could exist. It is scientifically plausible, we just dont have that kind of technology. If time travel did exists however, we would only be able to travel to the past because we can't travel somewhere that doesn't exist. So all these conspiracies and these people who claim to be from the future.... what if it's real? What if they really are from the future? We're just here living out the past. And what if time travel existed right here, right now and we travel back to the 20s (the 1920s... honestly a better time) and they are just living out the past? All these different times of the past, conscious, but indeed just living out the past in a different multiverse thinking they are living in the present, when really they are living out the past.
What if the past is like this constant loop?
So... today I was asked if I was a witch.
Okay. So, during my art class, this girl I usually sit next to asked if I was a witch or into satanic stuff. I was quite honestly really confused to why she even asked that. I mean I had barely said 2 words to the girl. I thought maybe she thought I was a witch because I wore black a lot. She could obviously see the confusion on my face and said " I asked, because of the jewelry you wear". (I wear a lot of Harry Potter, LOTR/Hobbit, GOT inspired jewelry) I burst out laughing. And told her "no, I'm not a witch. I'm just a nerd".
