this website lets you listen to the sounds of all different forests around the world
Reblogging again cause I tried this site last night and if you need background noise to focus this is perfect for that, I was locked the fuck in on a task. And it’s also just gorgeous to listen to
I needed this drag. Let’s change guys and not look back
working out your brain is a must!!
• hydrate it by drinking lots of water
• eat dark chocolate and blueberries and walnuts and salmon and other foods high in antioxidants!!
• play little brain games on your phone; I like wordconenct! anything that makes you think!
• read books. It’s simple but necessary. Even better - join a book club, or read with a friend, so you can have discussions after. This will improve your reading comprehension.
• do puzzles - it doesnt have to be sudoku, I love playing Beat Saber on the Oculus Rift because it makes my brain have to match colorful patterns to physical movements very quickly!
• learn a new dance - even a tik tok trendy dance. Learning new dance moves are proven to strengthen synapses!!
• go bird watching, or foraging, or anything outdoors that requires you to explore pattern recognition and visual searching
• watch a movie with the intent of analysis - this is best done with a cinephile friend!! talk about tropes and symbolism and character growth
• cross stitch, or sew, or do anything that requires matching nimble hand movements to patterns
• play or learn an instrument!
• develop a consistent sleep schedule (or as close to consistent as you can get!)
• when eating, try to identify the ingredients and flavors you’re perceiving!
I hope this helps :)
I like how this went from me feeling like “hm why is this attacking me 🤨” at first, but feeling grateful seeing an added guide on a genuine expansion on a “ how to” work out the brain. This genuinely helps a bunch. People find solace in doing activities that get them through life by doing said activities of phone/tv or if that’s all they’ve ever known in their life to get them through things + etc tho. However, this was very impt to point out. Slowly beginning incorporating things to work the brain in ones own time.
Oh hi i just approved my proofs for this novella! It has illustrations inside! And one hundred thousand spiders! It's gonna be released on april first! And I forgot how to write without exclamation points because now i gotta promote it and I am feeling some kinds of ways about it!
Wowzers tumblr really crunched my image in a hundred grinding teeth, but that's okay, because I have even more teeth in the book! Do you like teeth? Do you like spiders? Do you like the idea of a woman losing her entire mind at an artists retreat while the other half of her stalks her family through the woods with the intent to devour them? Stay tuned!
update from the discord group courtesy of one of my mutuals;
do not trust that damned survey. change your discord password. utilize 2FA.
I use 2FA on every website I log into, and it didn't ask for any details when I took the survey, but I still don't trust that thing at all. One can never be too safe.
to be clear, the one that is a scam is the one that asks for your Discord login information. there is a legitimate one that does not ask for ANY information and that one is a legitimate qualtrics survey from Discord. make sure you always check sites and links before you click on them fellas!
The legit survey has been closed down as of yesterday.
The phishing scam is taking advantage of the high emotions about AI, but if anything online asks for your login info (that is not on the actual verified website that belongs to that login that you navigated to yourself (not a link from an email or post!)), that is a huge sign to STOP.
TO ANYONE WHO USES DISCORD- FOUR AI SCRAPING BOTS HAVE BEEN SECRETLY ADDED TO YOUR SERVERS WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT
Saw this going around and tested it myself, and I can confirm that this is unfortunately legit. Four hidden bots have been placed in any existing or newly created Discord server that are harvesting data, images, and most concerningly, one seems to be a face swap bot.
Due to them being invisible, banning them from your servers isn't possible without their ID's, which I've typed out for easy access.
1153984868804468756 1288638725869535283 1090660574196674713 1104973139257081909
Banning is done with the /ban command with each string pasted in one at a time. Four ban commands in total.
Image proof below and further information. This was in my PERSONAL server that has existed for +5 years. Discord is harvesting your shit without your consent, fight back.
Hey so in case you're like me and wondered: Can you ban members without them being in the server?
The answer is yes, you absolutely can! It'll look like this - the numbers you paste will be what's "banned"
However my sibling tried this in her servers and found that One of them was NOT a string of numbers, like so:
And for clarity it isn't a difference in user or device, this is what she got elsewhere:
So if you ban these numbers and the message shows the actual username? Pretty sure that means they were in there.
Very unpleasant way to check the veracity of this post but hopefully this is a helpful tip for anyone who was concerned - my sib would have No Reason to add these in herself and didn't have any clue it was in there.
Personally, I'd say even if you are still worried about misinfo/fearmongering/etc from this post, think of it this way - worst case scenario is you're banning a bot you'll never use or need. Not a person, a bot. There's no real damage done playing it safe and running the ban commands through, aside from maybe losing some time doing so.
Best of luck everyone.
Wishing I'd seen this more quickly - Had to take these things out of a lot of creative spaces just now. I'm not convinced that the username only shows up if they were in there, but I do think it's better safe than sorry, especially when peoples' art is involved.
@quidnunc-life @inkvoices @alistrawrites
@returnsnull7404 hey this is VERY much real I just took all of them off my discord
what the actual fuck
one of them was on my personal server and ALL OF THEM were on our writing server
happy winter's crest 🖤💜
finally upgraded the ole ipad and had to do a sketch to break her in
HERE’S THE THING THOUGH
I used to work for a call center and I was doing a political survey and I called this number that was randomly generated for me and the way our system worked was voice-activated so when the other person said hello you’d get connected to them, so I just launch right into my “Harvard University and NPR blah blah blah” thing and then there’s this long pause and I think the person’s hung up even though I didn’t hear a click
And then I hear “you shouldn’t be able to call this number.”
So I apologize and go into the preset spiel about because we aren’t selling anything, etc. etc. and the answer I get is
“No, I know that. What I mean is that it should be impossible for you to call this number, and I need to know how you got it.”
I explain that it’s randomly generated and I’m very sorry for bothering him, and go to hang up. And before I can click terminate, I hear:
“Ma’am, this is a matter of national security.”
I accidentally called the director of the FBI.
My job got investigated because a computer randomly spit out a number to the Pentagon.
This is my new favourite story.
When I was in college I got a job working for a company that manages major air-travel data. It was a temp gig working their out of date system while they moved over to a new one, since my knowing MS Dos apparently made me qualified.
There was no MS Dos involved. Instead, there was a proprietary type-based OS and an actually-uses-transistors refrigerator-sized computer with switches I had to trip at certain times during the night as I watched the data flow from six pm to six AM on Fridays and weekends. If things got stuck, I reset the server.
The company handled everything from low-end data (hotel and car reservations) to flight plans and tower information. I was weighed every time I came in to make sure it was me. Areas of the building had retina scanners on doors.
During training. they took us through all the procedures. Including the procedures for the red phone. There was, literally, a red phone on the shelf above my desk. “This is a holdover from the cold war.” They said. “It isn’t going to come up, but here’s the deal. In case of nuclear war or other nation-wide disaster, the phone will ring. Pick up the phone, state your name and station, and await instructions. Do whatever you are told.”
So my third night there, it’s around 2am and there’s a ringing sound.
I look up, slowly. The Red phone is ringing.
So I reach out, I pick up the phone. I give my name and station number. And I hear every station head in the building do the exact same. One after another, voices giving names and numbers. Then silence for the space of two breaths. Silence broken by…
“Uh… Is Shantavia there?”
It turns out that every toll free, 1-900 or priority number has a corresponding local number that it routs to at its actual destination. Some poor teenage girl was trying to dial a friend of hers, mixed up the numbers, and got the atomic attack alert line for a major air-travel corporation’s command center in the mid-west United States.
There’s another pause, and the guys over in the main data room are cracking up. The overnight site head is saying “I think you have the wrong number, ma’am.” and I’m standing there having faced the specter of nuclear annihilation before I was old enough to legally drink.
The red phone never rang again while I was there, so the people doing my training were only slightly wrong in their estimation of how often the doomsday phone would ring.
Every time I try to find this story, I end up having to search google with a variety of terms that I’m sure have gotten me flagged by some watchlist, so I’m reblogging it again where I swear I’ve reblogged it before.
But none of these stories even come close to the best one of them all; a wrong number is how the NORAD Santa Tracker got started.
Seriously, this is legit.
In December 1955, Sears decided to run a Santa hotline. Here’s the ad they posted.
Only problem is, they misprinted the number. And the number they printed? It went straight through to fucking NORAD. This was in the middle of the Cold War, when early warning radar was the only thing keeping nuclear annihilation at bay. NORAD was the front line.
And it wasn’t just any number at NORAD. Oh no no no.
Terri remembers her dad had two phones on his desk, including a red one. “Only a four-star general at the Pentagon and my dad had the number,” she says.
“This was the ‘50s, this was the Cold War, and he would have been the first one to know if there was an attack on the United States,” Rick says.
The red phone rang one day in December 1955, and Shoup answered it, Pam says. “And then there was a small voice that just asked, ‘Is this Santa Claus?’ ”
His children remember Shoup as straight-laced and disciplined, and he was annoyed and upset by the call and thought it was a joke — but then, Terri says, the little voice started crying.
“And Dad realized that it wasn’t a joke,” her sister says. “So he talked to him, ho-ho-ho’d and asked if he had been a good boy and, ‘May I talk to your mother?’ And the mother got on and said, ‘You haven’t seen the paper yet? There’s a phone number to call Santa. It’s in the Sears ad.’ Dad looked it up, and there it was, his red phone number. And they had children calling one after another, so he put a couple of airmen on the phones to act like Santa Claus.”
“It got to be a big joke at the command center. You know, ‘The old man’s really flipped his lid this time. We’re answering Santa calls,’ ” Terri says.
And then, it got better.
“The airmen had this big glass board with the United States on it and Canada, and when airplanes would come in they would track them,” Pam says.
“And Christmas Eve of 1955, when Dad walked in, there was a drawing of a sleigh with eight reindeer coming over the North Pole,” Rick says.
“Dad said, ‘What is that?’ They say, ‘Colonel, we’re sorry. We were just making a joke. Do you want us to take that down?’ Dad looked at it for a while, and next thing you know, Dad had called the radio station and had said, ‘This is the commander at the Combat Alert Center, and we have an unidentified flying object. Why, it looks like a sleigh.’ Well, the radio stations would call him like every hour and say, ‘Where’s Santa now?’ ” Terri says.
For real.
“And later in life he got letters from all over the world, people saying, ‘Thank you, Colonel,’ for having, you know, this sense of humor. And in his 90s, he would carry those letters around with him in a briefcase that had a lock on it like it was top-secret information,” she says. “You know, he was an important guy, but this is the thing he’s known for.”
“Yeah,” Rick [his son] says, “it’s probably the thing he was proudest of, too.”
So yeah. I think that might be the best wrong number of all time.

This but Thjazi in the center with 12 people around and maybe Thimble flying near him?
something like this i think?? im sure that some things will change as campaign will develop and grow which is fun!!!
but for now i see it kinda like this?
Chat I think I might be crazy
okay I’m getting somewhere with it???
but I need a break cause woof
BOOM DONE
I've seen people mentioning that Julien as Judas is genius but I wanted to elaborate a little bit more for people who don't know which position represents which!
So lets start from the beginning!
Azune as Bartholomew. He represents shock and righteous indignation which is perfect for him since he was so fucking sure that everything is gonna work. He even checked Thjazi which makes his indignation even more justified??
Murray as James the Less. She's more like a confused person? Kinda like trying to puzzle what the fuck went wrong.
Occtis as Andrew. He is like an innocent child being "uuh dont look at me?" which is SO HIM cause he's so awkward and somewhat innocent by his appearance if that makes sense? He's all 👉👈
Julien as Judas which kinda speaks for itself I suppose
Thaisha as Peter which I LOVE! She is suppose to be like an aggressively protective person and sorta impulsive that goes bonkers for Jesus Thjazi
Hal as John. He is suppose to be sorrowful and soft. Again kinda speaks for itself cause his brother just died.
Thjazi as Jesus. Do I need to say more?
Kattingale as Thomas. He represents doubt and skepticism? Which is somewhat true I suppose. Some of the characters are stronger fit than the other so it is what it is!
Tyranny as James The Great. She suppose to be in a kind of disbelieve. Tbh that pose was just loud so I immediately thought of her :)
Wick as Philip. He is like "Is it me?" Kinda like thinking to himself if he was the one to blame WHICH IS LIKE CMON SO TRUE??
Bolaire as Matthew. He is more like "wtf is going on??" which is also true
Teor as Thaddeus. I feel like he represents faith seeking understanding.
Vaelus as Simon. She is a wise elder. She looks calm and maybe resigned??
Also Thimble is too little to place as anybody but she was always at Thjazi's side so I couldn't leave her out of it!
The villagers watched a mighty paladin battle the demon under the full moon. At long last, the demon was vanquished.
"Did you see an old lady?" the villagers called. "It took her!"
The paladin looked at the moon setting, then shuddered and seemed to shrink. The armour turned to mist, the sword became a cane.
"I'm here."
"You're a… werepaladin? Is that a- How?"
"In my youth, I was bitten by a paladin." The old woman smiled fondly. "Many times."
Vaelus
I'm calling it now- Thaisha is gonna be my fav (bonus w/o effects)
