wise let out a small breath to steady himself, before pushing open the door to his room and smiling at the man sitting pretty on his bed. "hey," he greets, holding the popcorn bowl out for lighter to take. he juggles the four films he'd scooped from the shop and drops them on the mattress next to his boyfriend.

"so, i thought we could go with horror or adventure?" did he choose horror just so he could scoot closer to lighter? maybe so, but the only person who would say anything was belle, and she was out tonight.

If someone had told Lighter a year ago he'd be in New Eridu proper regularly for movie dates with his boyfriend, they may have actually gotten a laugh out of him. The reality of it is still surreal. His bike is parked next to the video store's van, and he's lounging on Wise's bed after hours while his boyfriend picks out movie options for them. Hell, he's seen more movies in the past few months than he had in years prior.

"Horror, huh? If you want to cuddle, you can just say so, you know." Still, the smile on his lips is kind. He'd never anticipated being affectionate with someone the way he is with Wise. But he's found he actually really likes it.

Still, he picks up the cases one by one, glancing over the summaries on the back.

"Here, this one sounds interesting." He hands his pick over - some psychological horror flick that's hopefully less bloody than the usual. And gives him a great excuse to rub Wise's back and run fingers through his hair to soothe him. Just because he's teasing his boyfriend about it doesn't mean they don't share a common goal.
