Jackie Taylor was the "overly nice but passive towards others being mean" type. She doesn't want to hurt anybody's feelings so she would humor everyone, even if they were weird or not in her social circle. She wanted to be liked, not envied or feared. Her need for approval extended beyond the popular crowd she ran with. But this also means she wouldn't do much to stop her popular peers when they were mean. Jeff and his friends likely gave girls like Natalie hell. Jackie would likely be the type to give a half-assed "stop, that's so mean" but still be smiling and displaying signs that it didn't bother her much, her essentially compromising in order to not totally lose the approval of those in lower social circles but to also not rock the boat too much in her own. We know those girls. The ones who would befriend you in a class without their popular crew and then be distant but polite outside of that class. The ones the other non-popular students would say "isn't that bad" but still didn't really trust much, except for the few that developed crushes on them. Meanwhile, Shauna was the "normie" best friend. Every nice popular girl has one. Basically somebody that doesn't fit into the popular aesthetic but gets dragged into the social circle anyway, never quite being seen as a true member of it by the others and always being overshadowed by the popular best friend, causing feelings of resentment and isolation. Meanwhile, the popular girl keeps them around because they relate more to the "normie" best friend than they admit, them feeling like an imposter amongst their own popular crowd.

Thinking of doing a canon-accurate novel style fanfic of Yellowjackets. I'd go episode by episode, all scenes and dialogue included. I'm a published ghostwriter with two degrees in literature. Is there interest in this if I decide to do it?
