I’m obsessed with Cult of the Lamb rn. It’s the perfect blend of cozy yet macabre
I have been waiting all year to post this.
omg
This has been in my queue for months.
I missed it last year and I vowed that would NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
omg i didnt reblog this last year!
New Year’s Eve hits different when you’re a parent
When Din returns Grogu (not via SpaceFedEx)
Din: Skywalker, we need to talk.
Luke: Mandalorian. I see. Come into the Temple.
Din: I have some issues with your teaching methods.
Luke, hiding annoyance: Please, do share.
Din: Ok, first, he’s claiming you didn’t feed him, which I understand is a lie. However, the shirt is a little tight, so he’s definitely been sneaking things. You need to keep a closer eye on him.
Luke, nodding: I… understand.
Din: Secondly, the blaster machine.
Luke, internally panicking: I can explain –
Din: Just one blaster bolt? I understand he’s young, but we’re usually in ambushes so the number needs to increase. Only being able to dodge one at a time is useless in our line of work.
Luke: Uh-
Din: And the whole X-Wing thing? No matter what he tells you, he can’t fly a gunship, nor is gunship to fighter a transferable skill. I’d suggest you start with letting him handle a speeder and seeing where he goes from there.
Luke, confused: So I need to feed him less, shoot him more, and let him play on machinery?
Din: This is the Way.
Luke: …ok.
Din: Excellent, and here’s the custody agreement I drew up. Grogu drew the picture at the top.
Costume. Chitons.

Wrap Yourself In Blankets, Call It a Day
Wear blanket. Conquer world.
That last one looks dope
Squares and rectangles: easy to weave!! No cutting means no hemming.
And easy to construct, you don’t have to have complicated seaming and patterning to turn fabric into clothing!

This sort of clothing solution wasn’t just for the Mediterranean, or northern Africa, either. Behold the Belted Plaid:

Has anyone already reblogged this with saris? It’s cool how many cultures have similarities like this hidden in plain sight.

Summary:
A chance meeting puts Luke Skywalker and Din Djarin back on the same path. As Din comes to terms with his obligations to Mandalore, Luke begins to question his own commitment to the Jedi Order. Together they learn that the truths of their creeds are mutable, but their faith in each other is absolute.
What if Din adopted all the kids in Target’s Galactic Pals line of toys
The lovely @lessthantwelveparsecs has been working on their amazing fic Last Of The Old Gods for a year as of today! If you haven't been reading it you're missing out. Luke and Din are both on their own journey to heal their past traumas and figure out their path forward. Seeing their growth as this fic progresses is so satisfying. The banter between the two is top notch and the large cast of supporting characters are all complex and delightful. I had to draw some fanart after reading the latest chapter while I eagerly wait for the next one.
"You get into creating art because you have good taste and appreciate great art but because you have good taste, you will be painfully aware that you are not outputting great art when you start to make it. Immediately, it's crushing how beneath your taste you're operating but the only thing that will carry you towards creating what you love is suffering through your inadequacy. So instead of whining about how bad you are compared to the things you adore, create out of love for the process and medium."

those posts that are like “enough [popular and narratively satisfying literary trope]! give me [extremely boring subversion]!”
#enough [thing with storyline] #give me [that trope but without the part that drives the narrative]
