Don’t bring home new birds, bring birds inside if possible or restrict their potential access to wild birds, seek out a test (they are often free and do not require euthanasia) if your bird is showing symptoms.

So there's this plastic turtle we have outside our school that tells cars to slow down. My kids have always asked me why I don't have a husband, and I got tired of telling them because I didn't want one, so I pointed to him and said, "That dude. That's my husband."

This has been a running joke for two years now. All the kids know the plastic turtle outside the school is my husband. He doesn't have a name, just Miss Cat's husband.

Today was really windy, and the turtle dude fell over. I was taking a kid out to his mom, and he saw it on the ground and went, "Oh look, your husband died."

So I said, "Oh darn. Looks like I'm single again."

And without skipping a beat, he goes, "I'll be your husband."

Mom is standing there trying not to laugh as I got down on my knees, took the kid's hands in mine, and said, "Thanks for the offer, bud, but no thank you. We'll just pick that guy up so he can start being my husband again."

So the kid runs over, picks the turtle up, and goes "Good morning, husband! You're not dead anymore. Good job."

I decided to draw this thing based off of a bigger idea I had when the PPG reboot started using memes (so like… right from the beginning). Kids HATE memes/fads when adults or corporations who have no clue what they’re doing or why it was supposed to be cool or funny in the first place use them. ‘Cause then they just suck out your life essence and make you wanna die. So… clearly they should be used as a tool of evil! To destroy children! And what better lame-o to use a tool like that than THIS chimpy lame-o!

Anyway… enjoy/be terrified!

it’s weird how many people still buy into the justifications that feudal ruling classes used to legitimize their power. Samurai and knights were no more chivalrous and honorable than emperors and kings were divinely ordained to sit on their thrones

The most important scene in “Seven Samurai” was when they considered leaving because the village stole and killed from other samurai. It wasn’t until Kikuchiyo points out that they were justified in their actions as samurai burned down and pillaged their village and neighboring villages for the sake of their lords.

Sorry if I’m paraphrasing, my point is samurai were at best shameless sword-cops and shouldn’t be deified.

Stuff like this reminds me that not only are Elephants immensely intelligent and deeply social, they also generally consider humans to be legitimately “cute/adorable” in the same way we do for dogs or cats.
