"#and better songs than steven universe even#though that's not a hard goal to reach" (/post/152590627427/sushinfood-andeathisbike-this-show-really-is) what the fuck is that supposed to mean? su songs are the shit!
Ehhhhhh.... Steven universe's songs, and.... Also adventure time's songs, at least some of the newer stuff.... Theyre both just... Disjoint? Y'know? Its just kinda painful to listen to most of the time. I mean there are some songs that are good, but... Rebecca sugar is just not good at writing lyrics that dont sound terrible with the music. Like look at stronger than you. Fantastic song, don't get me wrong. But it just sounds abrupt most of the time. Like the lyrics don't fit the song. And this is the case most of the time. It could also be just that the singers aren't great. I dunno. I mean, there's exceptions like say, love like you. Thats a song that actually sounds good with the music. If you want a show with Really Good Music, I can't stress enough how good the songs in MLP:FIM are. Like really. Daniel Ingram just nails it all the time, even if the songs aren't great, it just /feels/ more musical. Like take Love is in Bloom, or Smile, or Winter Wrap Up. Just literally look at most of the songs in the series and a very large percentage of them are really good. Sure, there are some bad, generic songs, but the standouts are just... Really good.Anyway, my point here is that Steven universe's songs just feel kinda... Disjoint and poorly written. I could really say the same thing about the show as a whole to be honest. Im not sure who's fault it is, but a lot of the writing is just..... Generic as hell? Y'know? Its like modern adventure Time, meaning they try to do serious stuff but they just... Fail, because the characters and World are just not serious, not to mention the writing.Idk. I still enjoy the show. Don't get me wrong there. I just think some of its writing is not as well made as it could be, and I much prefer shows like star vs, or we bare bears, or mlpfim. They tend to just be less disjoint in how theyre written. I just like my animated shows to make me laugh a little bit. Steven universe hasn't really managed that since like... mid season 2? That's about when it delved into entirely serious things, not to mention when it foreshadowed the cluster for FOREVER and then when it got there? A massive anticlimax. That was close to the turning point.Anyway, wow, I wrote a giant essay here. Welp.Tl;dr: Steven universe's songs feel generic as fuck, mlpfim's songs are probably the greatest songs I've ever heard in television, the general writing of Steven universe just feels off.

My boyfriend, Chris, doesn’t see me the way I see myself. So I wanted to see how someone who doesn’t have my insecurities would dress me for a week.
I like this idea, it doesn’t even need to be a romantic partner: You and your best mate/roommate could pick each other’s outfits for a week.
Because sometimes you need a external perspective to realise how brilliant and beautiful you are.
Yeah, but it’s not really the scenario you describe. They specifically framed it with “My (Cis, Het, Heteronormative) Boyfriend”, which is why I’m going “no”.
also she didn’t have the choice to opt out if an outfit was uncomfortable.
Because a) she trusts her boyfriend and b) that would have completely defeated the point of the exercise.
Besides, I doubt if he made a choice that she found particularly degrading or dangerous, he would have, what, forced her to go outside and locked the door behind her?
I love ignorant tumblr social awarness blog think they know what best for someone else’s relationship even though she enjoyed the experiment.
Figures these lames would be Steven Universe fans.
Except she expressed many times that she did not.
Final Thought: Nina: I’ve spent years telling myself I “can’t” wear certain things. But, after a couple hours of just living my life in those clothes, I forgot that I was supposed to be embarrassed of my arms or my stomach. I also apparently don’t hate attention as much as I think I do. I loved it when people complimented my hat or commented on my crazy pants. I can be loud and bold with my fashion choices, and even if they’re stupid, the day ends and life moves on. I’m really glad I got to do this experiment with Chris. I should see and treat my body the way he does: like it can wear anything.
Go back to watching Steven Universe, nerd.

Needless to say, folks, none of those things in the brackets are actually in the article. I’m pretty sure the only reason “white” wasn’t in there is because he’s dating an Indian(?) woman.
Good God they’re so stupid it hurts.
> girl chooses an experiment
> sets a time limit, rules, gives full consent
> enjoys the experience
> affirms that she enjoyed it and that it boosted her self esteem
Tumblr: NO! NO! SHE HATED IT! SHE HATED IT! SHE HATED IT! HE’S OBVIOUSLY CISHET AND HETERONORMATIVE SO IT WAS BAD AND SHE HATED IT!
Postive words, from postive YouTubers
I was talking about why Chef Gordon Ramsay was so angry all the time, and explained that he originally wanted to be a professional soccer player but suffered a really bad knee injury and couldn’t play anymore, so he poured himself into cooking and culinary arts to help with his anger issues, but his abusive alcoholic father disapproved of his cooking and died before ever tasting any of it and I realized that Gordon Ramsay has the most anime backstory ever.

I was browsing the nintendo store and was kind of saddened to see that they are dividing their gift ideas by gender.
So out of curiosity I decided to see what they were marketing to me, as a woman. Is it just going to be cutesy games like nintendogs or something?
The signs are not good. Is this going to be a ‘men play consoles women play handhelds’ stereotype or something? Lets scroll down…
Huh. Well Pokemon is the next big handheld release. So lets see what they’re marketing to men?
…the same thing…?
…literally the exact same thing.
They posted the same page twice, and just changed the pronouns in the captions.
Nintendo doesn’t care what gender you are.
They just really, really want you to buy Pokemon.
one of the greatest unforeseen effects of Ace Attorney is the fact that if you google the word “objection,” the actual definition of the term is displayed beside an image straight out of a fucking video game
Dos and don'ts on designing for accessibility
Karwai Pun, GOV.UK:
The dos and don’ts of designing for accessibility are general guidelines, best design practices for making services accessible in government. Currently, there are six different posters in the series that cater to users from these areas: low vision, D/deaf and hard of hearing, dyslexia, motor disabilities, users on the autistic spectrum and users of screen readers.
[…] Another aim of the posters is that they’re meant to be general guidance as opposed to being overly prescriptive. Using bright contrast was advised for some (such as those with low vision) although some users on the autistic spectrum would prefer differently. Where advice seems contradictory, it’s always worth testing your designs with users to find the right balance, making compromises that best suit the users’ needs.
