like you created a new character and their background for a movie and you build it up in comics and then really destroy it in the movies, like oscar and poe deserve better 1)in the poe comics leia dealt w hothead poe and he learned from it in a much less destructive manner to have that destroyed in tlj (which still felt like a racist holdo moment to me) and 2)consistently go back to his time w the new republic navy to then have him be a smuggler (i liked someone saying it was a spy mission but poe never explained it so) also no one ever mentioning his parents were rebels and fought against the empire. overall i enjoyed ros a whole lot more than tlj but idk if i would’ve been a fan of poe if it weren’t for his comics and the resistance reborn book (which was the point of if you didn’t recall any of it, like poe literally talks about wanting to get along w rey bc she’s important to finn but also rey fans are a bit unfair of saying poe was mean when she was hiding things, whatever the reason). also wished they could’ve brought in women for reasons other than to say this guy is straight. tbh i do think finn and poe would’ve had more cohesive stories overall if 8 didn’t go down like it did. oh and yeah i’m glad finn met jannah and they shared that past but for her to come in and get offered the opportunity to learn about her past w finn never offered the same seems wrong. this really went longer than it should’ve
