Painting anyone who primarily supports transfems as a fetishizing predator is quite the look. Also, surprise surprise, this person never talks about transmisogyny except to try to diminish the term and talk down to people discussing transmisogyny, is anti TMA/TME, and is a transandrophobia theorist.
The only one looking like a fetishizer is you. You nominally support transfems but the second we step out of line we need to be put in our place and every mention of us is second to how much we are supposedly always shitting on transmascs. You reblog posts about hot ass transfems in media but don't support us when we speak out on transmisogyny in the community. I wonder what you call that.
Automatically assuming that a word we joyously use to describe ourselves is actually a fetish is so, so telling. These people are often indistinguishable from TWERFs.
Can we also point out the refusal to believe intersex trans women exist, by listing intersex as a group seperate from trans women?
Because, like. The two are not mutually exclusive!
I know trans girls with ovotestes, klinefelter's, androgen insensitivity, and I myself have progesterone overproduction!
But. These people only seem to care about intersex people who are TME. If that gives you any clue as to how they think of intersex conditions and transfeminity as a whole.
The brain knots necessary to say "girl they're not your supports, they want to exploit you sexually" and conclude "therefore it's unfair to men" are incredible
Oh hey, I've had a trans guy basically argue this to my face at a bar once. For at least two hours. Dredging up Twitter drama where by an odd quirk I happened to know the accused despite not using twitter. I tried getting some words in edgewise, but he seemed convinced that if he just kept talking over me my silly girl brain would understand that cis lesbians only defend trans women to get into our pants and that we really need trans unity against the people turning trans women against trans men.
I was a transfeminist beforehand, I've had plenty of bad experiences with trans men (as well as plenty of amazing ones). But holy hell that lecture burned itself into my memory.
I didn't feel trans unity that night, I felt plenty of queer unity including with a different trans man, and with a cis transfeminist I'd been making out with. But with that man I just felt like a woman stuck at a bar, listening to a man complain about feminists.
sometimes it occurs to me that while "get bottom surgery and then use a strapon" is an obvious course of action for many trans lesbians, a lot of cis people would be extremely confused by the suggestion that someone would do this.
🗣️ 📢 ‼️
You need to understand that having a bigot "mistake you for a trans woman/fem" is fundamentally not the same experience as if you had actually been a transfem (or analogous/adjacent) person in that same situation. This should be obvious, but the key difference is in the word 'mistake'.
A mistake can be corrected
A mistake can be apologized for
To further emphasize this point, the difference is that it *isn't* a mistake when that hate gets directed at a trans woman.
You also need to understand that transmisogyny is more than just isolated instances of interpersonal bigotry. It's systemic.
I was reading a post earlier that brought up Imane Khelif and how she was, the poster claimed, "at the very least, *affected* by transmisogyny"
But... that isn't accurate.
I've seen plenty of other trans women by now make the obvious point that Imane Khelif would have been treated worse and been proffered less support if she had actually been a trans woman. That's an assessment that I generally agree with, but with one crucial caveat.
Because the thing is that if Imane Khelif *were* actually a trans woman, she wouldn't have been allowed to compete in the 2024 olympics in the first place.
Roughly 5300 female athletes competed in the 2024 summer olympics and a grand total of 0 of them were trans women. *That* is transmisogyny.
Imane Khelif is an incredible athlete who has been subjected to a cruel onslaught of misogynoir and intersexism, and while both of those oppressions have certain features in common with transmisogyny, they are not the same thing.
Understanding these distinctions is important if you want to effectively stand in solidarity with trans women to combat transmisogyny (and misogynoir and intersexism).
If you don't, then you will continue to miss the ways that trans women are actually being oppressed.
I don't know why people are desperate to claim the wrong kind of oppression... Like, if a someone is being bigoted towards a a white gay guy, he doesn't get to say "I was a victim of racism."
Why is claiming to be tma a thing? (Because they want to discredit the distinction, because it's easier to oppress and control a group when they lack words to speak about their oppression, and a community which can be rallied against it. By claiming that Everyone is Equally TMA then they can divert attention from the ways transmisogyny is a distinct problem for trans women. It's All Lives Matter, all over again.)
I mean. That's not really the gift of prophesy tho. that's just kinda looking at past events, looking at what the administration and its members are saying they're gonna do, and identifying a very likely outcome of their actions.
If major league baseball said "we're making all bats 20% bigger" and i said "wow, i bet there's gonna be a lot more hits in the next couple years" i'd hardly call that a prophesy.
when a new administration takes control of the government and says "we're putting a guy who thinks the way to get healthy is to eat every dead raccoon you find on the side of the road in charge of keeping the country healthy and free of disease", and you've watched a decade of deregulation lead to food borne pathogen outbreak after food born pathogen outbreak, then yeah, it's reasonable to say "wow, i bet everyone's gonna shit their brains out in the next few years." because that's just how cause and effect work.
everyone get more transfeminist and examine your implicit biases against transfems now. we need to beat transmisogyny to death and this starts with beating it to death in you.
And she wonders why people hate her?
sex criminal j k rowling bullies amnesty international into retracting unbiased report about genocidal risks, after paying for the manufacture of a scottish devolution crisis over the same issue
“The police spend very little of their time dealing with violent criminals—indeed, police sociologists report that only about 10% of the average police officer’s time is devoted to criminal matters of any kind. Most of the remaining 90% is spent dealing with infractions of various administrative codes and regulations: all those rules about how and where one can eat, drink, smoke, sell, sit, walk, and drive. If two people punch each other, or even draw a knife on each other, police are unlikely to get involved. Drive down the street in a car without license plates, on the other hand, and the authorities will show up instantly, threatening all sorts of dire consequences if you don’t do exactly what they tell you. The police, then, are essentially just bureaucrats with weapons. Their main role in society is to bring the threat of physical force—even, death—into situations where it would never have been otherwise invoked, such as the enforcement of civic ordinances about the sale of untaxed cigarettes.”
— An excerpt from Ferguson & the Criminalization of American Life by David Graeber (via actjustly)
since i think many will have had the memory slip with just how many other atrocities have occured in the past 11 years, or are simply too young to remember, the last bit about the sale of untaxed cigarettes isn’t just some hypothetical, it’s a reference to the killing of eric garner
this is the origin of the slogan “i cant breathe”, which was revived in the wake of the killing of george floyd.
On this day, 17 July 2014, Eric Garner was murdered by police enforcing a civic ordinance.
trans women:
center yourself in language that includes you. if it includes women like you, it includes you. it's not "them" it's "us". women are your peers. when someone says ladies that means you. keep reminding yourself. don't forget. it is a fact. treat it like one. you HAVE to treat yourself like a woman. keep reminding yourself. keep reminding yourself.
this this this this.
that song is about you. that advertisement applies to you. when someone tries to lift women's self esteem it's supposed to be lifting YOUR self esteem. how many songs come on the radio telling women they're beautiful??? that's YOU. you're beautiful. take it seriously. take yourself seriously. you ARE a girl and you HAVE to act like it. if you don't treat yourself like a woman, and you ARE one, then you're not treating yourself like a person, and THAT IS SELF HARM. you HAVE to treat yourself like a girl. it isn't optional.
I can't keep having the same conversations about love languages, mbti, iq, bmi, "brain fully formed at 25" and shit over and over again...
these things exist on a spectrum from untrue to straightforwardly racist btw. so if we could retire them forever that'd be nice.
“Love Languages” are just common couples therapy techniques mangled and repackaged by an unqualified homophobe. Relationships generally need all 5 love languages to be fulfilled, which is to say, everybody needs to communicate with, spend time with, and do things for their partners, and that’s got nothing to do with any special way you communicate affection.
MBTI has been proven completely ineffective at predicting anyone’s success at a particular job, and half the people who take it twice will get different results. Reputable psychologists do not recognize it, and the company that owns the rights to it uses it to scam people. People don’t adhere to strict binaries in basically anything. Very few people are going to be exclusively introverted or extroverted. It’s just astrology repackaged as pseudoscience. Shockingly enough, you can’t boil the complexity of the human experience down to a dozen Types of Guy.
The concept of IQ is flawed from the start— “intelligence” is an abstract concept that encompasses many different skills, from social intelligence to emotional intelligence to the very narrow kind of problem solving intelligence IQ tests generally measure for. It cannot predict how fast you learn, how much you know, or how logical and well read you are. It mostly measures how good you are at solving puzzles. Coincidentally, it’s also a pretty good predictor of income and education level, take a guess why. Most people’s IQ will change throughout their lives, because it’s inconsistent bullshit we’ve only held onto this long because we’re still kinda hoping we can breed the ubermensch. IQ tests and the way they attempt to categorize people are explicitly eugenicist and racist.
BMI was developed by a man known as the grandfather of eugenics, who first of all was a mathematician, not a doctor, and second never intended the formula to be used to categorize individuals. It’s intended to give a rough estimate of obesity in populations, and it’s not even good at that. It hangs around because of fatphobia and insurance companies who want it as an excuse to charge fat people more.
The study which determined people’s prefrontal cortex was still developing at 25… stopped measuring at 25. Evidence suggests your brain probably never stops developing. Stop infantilizing grown adults. This is a branch off from the larger mess of misinformation surrounding fMRIs.
If you haven’t put together what all these things have in common yet, here’s the moral of the story: STOP TRYING TO CATEGORIZE PEOPLE. STOP TRYING TO PUT PEOPLE IN A GODDAMN BIOLOGICAL HIERARCHY. EUGENICS IS BAD, AND WILL ALWAYS BE BAD, NO MATTER WHO’S DOING IT.

It would kill half the 19-25 year olds online to realize "I can't help it I have trauma" is one of THE quintessential abuser excuses
Like there is a difference between "My trauma creates impulsive urges and has changed my instinctive reactions to be irrational, I need to relearn shit." vs "I'm traumatized so I Can't Help It and you're not allowed to expect better of me"
That part!
Announcing his controversial return to family life, local resident Uncle Greg told reporters Monday he will attempt to make his long-awaited comeback during a family barbecue in a relative’s backyard next month.
Once a mainstay of holiday get-togethers, the 39-year-old uncle has long been written off by those who said he could never recover from a decade of strained relationships, social gaffes, and severed familial connections.

i want a Superman story about Superman realizing she's a trans woman. how would she tell people? who would she tell? how could she tell them? through what possible ways would she transition? Kryptonian biology may not necessarily be compatible with human hormone replacement therapy and needles are certainly out of the question. if she figures it out, at what point does her presentation change? superman can't take a break, people need her, even if her haircut is getting awkwardly long and her body is uncomfortable to be in. everyone on earth knows who Superman is, knows her face. is her secret identity threatened if Clark Kent mysteriously starts to transition at the same time as Superman? if she only lets one be publicly out, which one? and what would it feel like to put on that costume -- in either case -- if so? if someone tries to attack her on the street, as Ms. Kent, how does she hide her secret identity? how would the world itself react to someone with the strength to juggle planets being a tranny? with her super-hearing there's nothing she wouldn't know about what people are saying, nevermind what's being written in the press. how does SuperMAN, one of the most definitive icons of masculine indomitability and resilience, cope with changing? would her strength, her confidence, her ability to do anything suddenly be used against her? why can't she be more like wonder woman? why is voice training so hard even for someone with super-ventriloquism? does anyone know what it's like to be able to run faster than a speeding bullet and leap tall buildings in a single bound but to not be able to find a cute pair of shoes that fits? to be indestructible but afraid to use a public bathroom? would even the most powerful person on earth not feel just as helpless as i do?
i want to stress that it is crucial, like genuinely imperative, for this story in my mind that magical super special magic sci-fi kryptonian HRT that instantly rewrites Kent's DNA does not exist. it is not on the table. the entire thing is that Kent would have to transition slowly and awkwardly just like everybody else while also bearing the nonstop pressures and responsibilities of being "The Man of Steel" to literally every single human being on the planet. she doesn't have time to agonize over whether her shave was close enough before leaving the house if a plane is about to fall out of the sky
again i think some people are fundamentally missing a key point. this would be a story about how violent of an idea it is that a woman cannot be "Superman" and "Superman" cannot be a woman, and the myriad social forces that actively and passively enforce this ideology on everyone, including the very real and very strugglingly transgender Kent. it's about the vulnerability and frustration of it all, it's about secret identities and shame and choice and the unfair burden of tact, and all the superheroics stuff would just kind of a framing device. i swear to god give me a two week vacation from work and i'd have a script written
J.K. Rowling posting Upskirt shots of trans women makes clear what we've always known.
Rowling believes that she has a right to commit sexual violence against women she believes don't deserve rights or safety.
Her response to receiving criticism on posting said upskirt was to essentially argue that the trans woman had it coming and as was basically asking for it because of what she was wearing.
There is no daylight between Rowling and the average shitheel rapist.
