| ⚔ | “Alexandria is not as large as this kingdom, although I still perceive her to be just as beautiful. Repairs have been at work for many years since moments of destruction and now she is better than ever for her civilians. Lindblum is still truly a sight to behold. I hardly knew how to navigate this place when first arriving here. So large, so grand, and the home of many airships to boot, it might be the most technically advanced.” He rubs his chin, curious at the mention of her own hometown, apparently one of the largest. He imagines she to have travelled very far to reach this point.
All the more to offer the best tour of this grand kingdom that could be done, although he could not do it as much justice to his own kingdom which he was born and bred.
“The palace as well is much bigger than that of Alexandria, although Alexandria Castle harbors many secrets that Lindblum’s Palace does not.” Or he supposed if they were secret, perhaps they had just yet to be revealed to him.
“Right this way, madam.” So he marches off, expecting for her to follow, although keeping his pace slow enough she shall be able to enjoy all the grand sights and structures such a place could offer.
“I suppose you have already been on an air cab to arrive in this area?” Steiner inquires, marking the map in his mind and turning accordingly.
“They are quite extraordinary are they not? One of a kind. None of the other kingdoms have adapted such a technology. I suppose it to be costly.”
There was size to consider as well, Alexandria and other kingdoms were much easier to travel by foot, he notes, remembering how tired he out he had become traversing and being overwhelmed and lost in this kingdom.
Awe and excitement painted her features, alight in her eyes, upon listening to his response. A kingdom large and beautiful for its denizens, restored to its full glory despite the moments of destruction and peril it faced. If she hadn’t been excited to see Alexandria beforehand from Steiner’s praising description of it, now Maria had made mental note of it being her next destination in this realm, if only because it sounded so reminiscent of her own homeland.
“Alexandria sounds like a beautiful kingdom,” she answered, a laugh of delight escaping her. “Maybe one day soon I’ll stop for a visit there. I can’t help but think that I may feel a bit more at home there since it sounds so familiar to where I hail from…”
A grin appeared, growing at the mention of the respective palaces of the two kingdoms. “With kingdoms this large in size, I’m sure they share their fare share of grand sights and secrets within their palaces should one wish to look for them.” If anything, hidden truths within palaces seemed to be a staple if her past experiences were one to compare to. Though she’d rather not know if the palaces had hidden passages filled with monsters or anything, or travel through them for that matter.
Yet as much as she wanted to see the beauty that was Alexandria, it would be a trip for the near future. For now, she would focus on the beauty of the sister city of Lindblum and explore more of it had to offer. And the city had plenty to offer, from its architecture, to its food, to the airships she noticed flying above as she wandered through the vast city. No wonder she had gotten a tad lost in the midst of sightseeing, and after hearing Steiner’s admittance, she felt better that wandering aimlessly in the magnificence of the kingdom was more common than originally thought.
At his gesture Maria followed suit with a nod of assent, walking beside him with her pickle in hand and excited to see what else Lindblum had in store. Hopefully with a guide like Steiner, she won’t end up as lost as earlier. Upon hearing his following inquiry, she nodded in acknowledgment, recalling her initial arrival to this area on the interesting ship she now learned was an air cab.
“Yes I did ride on one upon my arrival, and what an unique little ship it was,” Maria began. “It’s a product of Lindblum’s technology, yes? I’ve never ridden on something like that before so it was quite the experience. No wonder it is one of a kind,” A laugh. “Maybe it has something to do with cost…yet, I’ve noticed many airships fly across the skies since coming here. I’ve never seen so many soar across the skies, let alone witness how common they are here! Where I’m from, there are not many airships in existence, so seeing so many in one place has been a bit of a surprise.”
| ⚔ | “You should visit! I would offer you an even grander tour!” He beams, glad to see she appears curious of his glorious kingdom, although he is curious of her own as well, apparently bearing resemblance of that of Alexandria, yet can assume it to be just as grand a place, if not much farther away, had he never heard of it.
“Ah, yes, our castle has a few secrets of its own! Ones even our royalty and myself did not know about for quite some time.” To this day- he could still not entirely comprehend the secrets of Alexandria Castle, only viewing them from a distance and assuming them to be now in ruins, if not lacking in access at all. He supposed there was still that place which could be accessed although preferred not to think of it.
“Lindblum has the largest abundance of airships indeed.” Steiner nods his agreement, still never able to quell his awe toward all of them. Compared to Alexandria, her sister kingdom, Lindblum truly thrived with technology. “Most of this we owe to Regent Cid IX! He is a very inventive man, and also our dear queen’s uncle.”
A bit peculiar for that matter, but Steiner was simply a lowly knight, and would not stick his nose in the business of royalty.
“He has developed new manners in which to travel in airships over time! With the disappearance of mist no one was sure if it would be plausible, but he made it so-“ That also had its fair share of difficulties, Steiner considers, finding the past to seem so far away in this passing moment of the newly rebuilt grand cities and communities, walking alongside such a kind traveler, and acting as her guide.
“We are close, m’lady!” The captain announces, turning another corner, and hoping in his gut that he actually knew where he was going.
“I wanted to show you the main square of the Business District! It contains many shops and items for sale.” He halts to a stop, tapping under his chin in thought. “Quite the distinction of armor and weaponry as well.”
