Lyra and Grayson headcanons
• Lyra accompanies Grayson to therapy. She either reads or knits as she waits for his sessions to be over.
• Her first project was a bedspread she presented as a gift for his birthday.
• They have the same phone wallpaper—a mirror selfie taken in Grayson's suite bathroom as they get ready for date night.
• Darby lets Lyra read the first draft of her novel. She highly suspects the main protagonists are based off her and Grayson. She secretly enjoys it.
• They go on runs together whenever the weather is fine. Grayson always brings his camera. It's mostly full of shots of Lyra than of them together.
• Sometimes Cooper tags along and challenges Grayson to races which he lets the kid win, especially because it makes Cooper happy and he adores him.
• Keith still offers Grayson the spare room when he's at Mile's End. He never complains, even falls to the old habit of borrowing Keith's flannels even when he owns several now.
• The plushies in Grayson's bed back at Hawthorne House is Lyra's idea of livening up the space. His is a smiley cup of coffee; hers a croissant. The same plushies can be found in their shared flat.
• They love to hang out on the porch to talk or read, sitting snuggly to each other.
• Even in sleep, they hold hands.
• Cooper learns to do magic tricks from Grayson who encourages him to learn some on his own so the kid could show him.
• Grayson drops Harvard for art school after a couple of semesters being undeclared. Lyra goes back to dancing. They move in together despite the commute.
• While Lyra soaks her sore feet in the tub after practice, Grayson yaps a storm beside her—if he isn't singing.
• Lyra keeps finding drawings of her tucked in her books and notebooks. He never stopped drawing her.
• Grayson composed a piano piece for Lyra thinking of the way she moves when she dances, when she kisses and when she laughs.
• They have a shared playlist of songs to dance to.
• In the summer, they like lying on the grass near the creek.
• Acacia and Lyra keeps in touch after one meeting.
• When Grayson is busy, Gigi texts or calls Lyra. Both either end up flooding him with cat memes or one word texts to annoy him.
• He learns how to braid when he saw her struggle with her messy, long hair once.
• One day, after years of waiting, Lyra wakes up with a ring on her finger. As Grayson gathers his courage to say what he has prepared, she cuts him off with a kiss. Lyra has her arms around his neck while he tries to get a word in, laughing in joy. It is that simple, ordinary yet extraordinary.
• They secretly get married just because, with no other guests but the officiant and a couple random witnesses. Grayson is wearing an amber-colored suit, Lyra a silvery blue halter dress.
• Another wedding is held at Mile's End. It's a slightly bigger affair though still intimate. Darby and Acacia have a hand in the preparations for the cottagecore-themed wedding. Lyra and Grayson approve in homage of the land which holds some of their happiest memories.
