I self published my poetry collection But You Painted Me Golden (2024). It contains much of my poetry from 2017 to 2023. You can find it on amazon and only as paper bag. Some of the poems are on this blog. And some did not make it. Summary: But you painted me golden, though, I am red and blue – this poetry collection captures the ins and outs of a mind in turmoil; the feeling of being lonely while being loved; the infinite longing for a universal truth lying within. Das deutsche Gedicht, dass ich für die Lesebühne der BerlinAuthors am 08.04.21 gelesen habe. Das Thema war das Zweisprachige schrieben. Das gelesene Gegenstück ist ‘The Cobalt Wolf’ (org. 2018). 'Immerdar' (2018) is the German poem I read at the digital reading stage ("Lesebühne") of the BerlinAuthors. The theme of the evening was bilingual writing. I read 'The Cobalt Wolf' (org. 2018) as an English example.

Das englische Gedicht, das ich am 08.04.21 auf der neuen, digitalen Lesebühne der BerlinAuthors gelesen habe. Thema des Gedichted sind Depression und Passion. Thema der Lesebühne war das zweisprachige Schreiben. Das ebenfalls gelesene deutsche Gegenstück ist "Immerdar" (2018) I read 'The Cobalt Wolf' (org. 2018) on the new, digital reading stage ("Lesebühne") of the BerlinAuthors on the 8th of April 2021. The main themes of the poem are depression and passion. The theme of the evening was bilingual writing. "Immerdar" (2018) I read as a German example.

Carmine Jako - ‘Comet’

This poem is meant to be the opener of my next bigger book project. My tag for it is #Return. I don’t want to give away too much of it. In a way it is about rebirth but all in all it is way more pragmatic, than you would imagine when reading this. The name of one of the main characters is Comet and so the poem is not just named after her but it is her.

This little freeform poem came to me during quarantine, or more accurately while having to do all uni and work and living at home, while the hot summer days went by one by one. This might also be my version of some kind of heaven (If I was to believe in one) and also the way I would choose to go on holyday. Although I would join my friends on some days and have some adventures of my own.

This is actually a new version of ‘Gone’ (2018). The older poem never really went away and I often times would murmur it or simply repeat it in my head. The new lines came to me after or during waking up and I scribbled them down. Later I realized the similar rhythm and combined it. To be perfectly honest, I am still not done with it. Sometimes I think I should leave about the last stanza altogether.

This poem might be some prophecy, who knows? It also links back to ‘The Scarlet Raven’ in some way. Stuff like that goes through my head all the time but I rarely manage to put it in words. At some point I might put together a book of dark premonitions in form of loose poetry. I only managed recently to voice them since now I can see them as ‘art’ and not just as some dark ramblings of my brain. But I can also never sit down and be like: ‘Okeydokey lets write some of that weird gothic stuff!”. I hope you enjoy it despite (or because of) the darkness. I would love to here how you feel about it! What do you think will come out of that door?🤫

Side note: I am pretty ill at the moment and happy I had all this stuff waiting to be put in posts. Anything more challenging kills my head at the moment.

Carmine Jako - “sun grows down”

I wrote this late at night and drunk in quarantine. Those that follow my Twitter might notice, how the word “bold” was “blond” in the first draft (I wrote directly into Twitter). In my drunk head this was the case. A record of my light scrambled brain. Or maybe my finger did not follow through. Could also be a Freudian Slip? Anyways, I wrote this in 2 minutes and I love it.

'Nymph' and 'Dryad' 2020 'Dryad' was originally called 'Nymph' but after I wrote THIS 'Nymph' the mistake I made in naming occurred to me. I was writing about a blossom tree as a metaphor for a person. The term 'Dryad' had gotten lost to me and so the confusing naming process happened. These poems now tell the story of two lovers (see them as gendered as you like), whereas one does fully rest in themselves (water does not need anything) but the other is depended on the first (a tree is bound to water). Each describe the other one and hint at how they feel. I also changed some structuring of NOW 'Dryad' and arguably created a new poem by doing so. But let future historians know, this is how it was supposed to be! I just did not erase the original 'Nymph' from my insta, because I did not want my profile's muster to be wacky.

'Dryad' was still inspired by 'Cherry Blossoms in the Dark' (2001) by Senju Hiroshi. THIS 'Nymph' I wrote while looking at the river 'Panke'.

"Meer aus Purpur" 2020

Ein Gedicht über mich (mal wieder). Das war eine Aufgabe in den "young poems", den Poesiekurs, den ich gerade besuche. Im Grunde reiht es sich in die "Crimson and Cobalt" Tradition ein und greift die personifizierung meiner negatieven Phasen als den blauen Wolf (Gedicht: "Cobalt Wolf") auf. Es ist allerdings keine Übersetzung. Rot steht wie so oft für meine Energie und Inspiration. Hier auch zum ersten mal das komplett neue J Design. Ich bin noch nicht ganz zufrieden, aber es ist schonmal sehr viel besser und weniger verpixelt. Wie gefällt euch die neue Kombination?
