I know some Bellwether fans don't care for what Z2 did with her, but - as someone with mental issues, myself - I still hold out hope that 'psycho woolgremlin' doesn't mean 'eternal antagonist.'
Bellwether in Zootopia 2 is an icon
such a perfect little woolgremlin
And after a while you just stop. You stop watering your plants. You stop watching netflix. You stop reading. You stop replying to your friends as fast as you used to. You stop buying yourself nice things. You stop putting an effort into how you look. You stop taking care of yourself like you used to. You stop sleeping. You stop eating healthy foods. You stop petting your dog. You stop socializing.
You stop with everything. You find yourself sitting in your room for hours on end, without doing a single thing. Days feel like years. And you think you can’t do it for much longer.
My therapist told me that you don’t only spiral down. You can spiral up again. So maybe one day
You water your plants for the first time in a while. Surprisingly they’re not dead yet. You remember a movie that you really enjoy and you find the energy to watch it. You feel better afterwards. Maybe you still can’t find the motivation to reply to your friends but you buy yourself a nice scented candle and read your book. You take a nice long shower and you feel refreshed, so you put on an outfit you find cool. Then after what seems like forever, you get a good night of sleep. You wake up with more energy than usual so you play with your dog. Then you cook that healthy meal you really enjoy. You reach out to a friend.
You start remembering what brought you joy. You start again with the little things. You look back on the days that have passed and feel relieved they’re over.
Remember, you don’t just spiral down. You spiral up as well, even if it takes more effort to get started.

It's so hard to come to that conclusion though, like at this point unalive is a part of gen Z culture. It's just using a word, they're not even thinking about talking on TikTok or YouTube anymore, they're just talking. It's a lot like people getting mad over AAVE because it's not grammatically correct and yes it's not, but AAVE is a cultural usage of English, a dialect if you will. They use it because their friends and family use it, everyone talks that way. Nobody thinks about grammar when speaking AAVE. It's actually kind of offensive if you try to correct someone. It's like that with unalive too. It's a clashing of culture, we don't understand it because we see it as it was formed, a response to a shitty half ass language filter, not as it is used, which is just another word for kill, death, or died. I really think this one is just not a big deal enough to fight. I think that teacher in the first part, while I agree with the sentiment and find the story funny, it's also in my opinion not about maturity but just a culture thing.
From working with children, the way kids who use unalive react when they hear someone say kill or suicide, it's not just slang or comparable to minoritised dialects, it's self-censorship, active and deliberate with fear of consequences built into it.
The idea of being punished by an invisible force for saying a bad word is literally something I was terrified of in Catholic school and it’s creepy that corporate sponsors are living in kids’ heads the way God and Satan lived in ours.
kill the cop they have poisoned your heart with and hold the weight of these words in your hands. they are tools meant to be used to better the world, and like most tools they can also be used to make the world a worse place through misuse. that is not an excuse to not use them, that is an indictment of the responsibility that Being Able To Use Words carries.
censorship is vile in all its forms and i will kill it until it dies a painful death.

Puritanism is getting worse around the globe and conservatives and fascists will absolutely be first going harder against porn, then use that against queer people. You HAVE to realise this and oppose anti porn measures and laws, be in solidarity with sex workers, and listen to them when they call this shit out. It's going to be vitally important.
Many such cases!
I don’t trust Daily Mail, so I looked this up. And yeah, here is the NPR article:
https://www.npr.org/2022/10/08/1127580159/houston-tipping-lapd-death-lawsuit
Gage [the victim's family's lawyer] disputes the official account, arguing that Tipping was beaten by several officers who "repeatedly struck [him] in the head and body severely enough that he bled, required stitches, suffered a lacerated liver and three broken ribs." He said UCLA medical experts who have reviewed Tipping's autopsy report concluded that the officer's injuries do not square with the department's version of events. "If it happened the way they say it happened, how did he end up with six staples in his head and a lacerated liver?" Gage asked. The LAPD has said many of Tipping's injuries were the result of attempts to revive him at the academy. Again, Gage claims that is untrue. He said medical records obtained by his legal team show that a LUCAS device, which works as an automatic CPR machine and that was in the training room at the time, was not turned on. "Had they used the device, it could explain the broken ribs, but we know it was never used," Gage said. He added: "The LAPD also tried to claim that the broken ribs could be a cause of the perforated liver. But as I understand it, the ribs were on the opposite side of the liver." And regardless of the differing accounts given by the officers who were present, Gage said LAPD training guidelines state that a person is not supposed to be lifted off the ground. "When you look at all these horrific injuries, the truth is something went seriously wrong here," he said. "This raises a number of questions that the family would like to have answered."
Yeah they straight up murdered him.
people completely overlook the beauty in the minutiae of it/its pronouns and its implications- it can refer to a beautiful piece of crystal, it can refer to gorgeous flowers, it can refer to pretty clothes, it can refer to cute animals like mice and rats, it can refer to majestic animals like wolves and elk, it can refer to a breath taking piece of art, it can refer to an accomplishment, it can refer to anything.
it can have neutral and positive implications. stop focusing on perceived negatives and let it go: there's nothing wrong with people using it/its pronouns, especially if we only use it/its pronouns. we are not a danger to you or anyone else. it's not uncomfortable. let go of your discomfort over someone else's comfort.
everyone saying it would hypothetically be easier to protest under kamala is just like. fundamentally incorrect. like do you not remember less than a year ago when the NYPD was teargassing and using literal rat poison on pro palestinian student protesters? the dnc has just wiped abolition of the death penalty from their policy. both kamala and biden are dedicating themselves to fortifying ICE. in what fucking world do you believe protesting against the US government will ever be easier? like are you just naive or are you stupid?
dick cheney is touting his support of this woman. she is claiming her support of israel's genocide of palestinians is "ironclad". you all can't even lie and claim you won't vote for her in order to even attempt to "push her left" so i seriously don't fucking know what you all expect to happen. biden has just renewed the trading with the enemy act which means more cubans will starve and lack enough basic medical supplies and ive heard no hint that kamala would change that. like who is this "voting for her is harm reduction" for? is it for you? so you can go back to pretending nothing is wrong with the world because at least kamala won't say slurs on camera? like?
It’s for every queer person in the usa
It’s for the disabled that would suffer if trump or people under him enact project 2025
It’s for US here in the usa.
It’s for the middle class, because trump will probably give the rich more tax breaks
It’s for women rights because under trump “pro-lifers” will be emboldened to place more of their harmful abortion bans that increase maternal death rates
It’s unfortunate that Harris won’t be helpful to Palestine, and other conflicts in the world
But I’m pretty damn sure she’ll be better for us than trump
Or do those people over there matter more than your neighbor right here?
It sucks but right now we need to vote for the lesser of two evils. Trump sets the bar very very ridiculously unbelievably low, but Harris clears it.
"Those people over there" Briefly unblocked you just to tell you you're a deranged motherfucker and a fucking pig and you, specifically, certainly do matter WAY less than anyone living in the global south, never forget it. <3

Now let's compare hate crimes & police violence shall we?
Trump-Pence Admin:

Now 1100 murders/year is a lot and there was an increase by 8 before the 2020 election.
Law enforcement reported 7,175 hate crimes to UCR in 2017, up from 6,121 in 2016. Source: FBI.GOV

Now 1266 murders/year is a lot and there was an increase by 87 before the 2024 election.
"The number of hate crimes (in 2023) reported rose by 2% to 11,862 from 11,634, the report said. Hate crimes have been on the rise in the United States for several years." Source Reuters. Using: FBI.GOV report.
And just for the "it's for queer people" queer people saying Kamala is better for us:
Hate crimes motivated by gender-identity and sexual orientation rose from 2022 to 2023, according to FBI data.
New polling by Stop AAPI Hate and NORC at the University of Chicago showed the Asian American community faced pervasive levels of hate in 20
An anti-Israel protester burns an Israeli flag in front of the White House in Washington, DC, USA, on June 8, …
About 31% of youth hate crime victims experienced them at school in the five year period covered by the report.
These are the direct consequences of aiding a genocide, justifying harm in the name of a "lesser evil", & appealing to racist centrists to win the 2024 election.
This is all Biden & Harris's doing.
There is no way to get consent to commit genocide, convince people you should be allowed to continue it, & openly support war criminals without it empowering white supremacists & bigots everywhere

Mutuals do this.

the default way for things to taste is good. we know this because "tasty" means something tastes good. conversely, from the words "smelly" and "noisy" we can conclude that the default way for things to smell and sound is bad. interestingly there are no corresponding adjectives for the senses of sight and touch. the inescapable conclusion is that the most ordinary object possible is invisible and intangible, produces a hideous cacophony, smells terrible, but tastes delicious. and yet this description matches no object or phenomenon known to science or human experience. so what the fuck
this is what ancient greek philosophy is like
False! “Sightly” is a positive word, so the default way for things to work is good as well.
The true most ordinary object is beautiful, horrible sounding, very smelly, intangible, and delicious.
I still don’t think it matches anything in existence but to truly understand a thing one must know its true nature.
"touchy" is also a word! however it's mostly used for things that aren't objects, like subjects of conversation. it either means "oversensitive and irritable" or "requires careful handling/wording, delicate"
i think the second one works well for our hypothetical object. so we can use that.
therefore, the Default Object is:
beautiful
makes a horrendous sound
smells absolutely awful
is very fragile
tastes delicious
and i still cannot think of anything that matches this
behold, the default object!
thinking about the fact that in order to serve on the jury of a death penalty case you have to be willing to impose the death penalty (i.e. not be categorically opposed to it on principle) otherwise you'll be dismissed, so juries in death penalty cases tend to be disproportionately white and male and have been shown to be more likely to vote for conviction. just in general death penalty as a practice is horrific and barbaric but this specific part of it also just feels so insane to me
“Death qualification” is yet another way prosecutors stack the odds against Black defendants and in favor of capital punishment.
Death qualification goes hand in hand with mass incarceration and the racial bias embedded in our criminal legal system.
