Cass is so fun to spin around in your brain like in a in-character setting where evil Cass happened and the family accepted it at face value (so basically the current canon) the fact that they accepted that she would turn evil in the blink of the eye without question would fuck her up so bad 😭

Or maybe it wouldn’t but it would affirm her most inner held belief that deep down she’s at her core a killer and how despite how everyone had claimed that wasn’t true they didn’t doubt her turning into one for a second

YEAH. Like if you ignore how utterly nonsensical and poorly written it is, and approach it just from the perspective of Cass angst... What does it say that these people were willing to discard her so easily? To dismiss her as a lost cause because of her past even though she tried so hard to distance herself from it? Even though it wasn't even her choice to start killing again? They knew she hated killing, she was trapped in her worst nightmare for months and none of them lifted a finger to help her. Is it something she should hold against them? Or is just them confirming the grim honest truth she's always held in her heart?That people are worth saving, but Cass is not one of them. Maybe it was her fault all along, she should have been better, stronger. Maybe it's just her fate. Some people were born cursed.

I don't know if I want to see it in canon but I want a thousand AO3 angst fics with the family having to convince Cass that they love her and she just doesn't believe them.
