Billy is supposed to be dead.
He's got a headstone in Hawkins' Cemetery, doesn't know what's buried in that coffin but sometimes he thinks about digging his way down, wrapping himself up in that grave and just closing his eyes. Maybe everything will be fixed, he'll stop existing and everyone can stop pretending they're happy he survived.
