The deadly wildfires in Australia rage on, and our most vulnerable communities need help.

Our Lady Inquisitor, the lovely Alix Wilton Regan, dropped by my work yesterday so I got her to autograph a copy of Faces of Thedas, a Dragon Age RPG Source Book, to raise money for First Nations bushfire victims.

Our Indigenous communities are some of the most vulnerable members of society, and this climate disaster has put them in both immediate and ongoing hardships. This money will go to helping them temporarily relocate from dangerous regions, basic amenities, and resettling.

Your help is needed now, more than ever.

All proceeds go to the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities on GoFundMe. Auction closes at 11pm, January 14 (Sydney/Melbourne time).

does anyone else feel like their inquisitor is kind of replaceable in the grand scheme of things? kinda like their achievements were just destined to happen instead of being an effect of their own, honest-to-maker work? as if the other games were more intimate, and Inquisition kind of… generalized?

as if in origins and da2, all of the decisions that end up shaping thedas were personal and specific to the main character, but in inquisition they were… blurry, and abstract?

i don’t know how better to explain it. i have one main warden, and one main hawke (+ maybe 2 on the side). but i have several main inquisitors, because none of them are original enough in their decisions to truly make an impact of thedas. whether i have andrastian male dwarf, pro-circle male mage, or pro mage-freedom elf, it feels like it doesn’t make a difference

I don’t really mind it, honestly. You can shape Thedas politically somewhat, but the biggest impact the Inquisitor has is on the Inner Circle.

Ive done a no mercy run in Inquisition, and half of the Inner Circle died by the end of the game (Bull, Blackwall, The Chargers, to name a few). The rest were predicted to spend the foreseeable future trying to undo the wrongs the Inquisitor had done (Varric, Sera, Vivienne). Good people genuinely trying to help were gone or derailed bc the Inquisitor was a power hungry asshole.

But in my other playthroughs, everyone’s happy and healing after it’s all done. They go out and continue to make a difference, they’ve healed from their pasts, and look forward to their futures. Blackwall helps criminals move on and heal like he had. Varric helps rebuild Kirkwall. Cullen helps other Templars break their lyrium addictions with a whole place dedicated to just that. Vivvienne helps mages displaced by the war. Bull and the Chargers to travel from job to job as they please.

Maybe the Inquisitor didn’t make a difference in the grand scheme of Thedas, but they make a difference in the lives of the friends and family they make along the way, and i love that so much.

So, I took a screenshot of Solas and... I don't know where this idea came from, but-

FLUFFY SOLAS

Imagine going adventuring during winter and Solas says he doesn't need a jacket, so he didn't pack one. But it's freezing right now and when you guys go to get him a jacket, the only one left on the rack that fits him is a super fluffy dusty pink jacket. You make him buy it because he needs it, then you go to one of the lakes where the sun has just lowered itself behind a mountain.
