Hello. I wish to inquire about details on how to make a fictional large college campus accessible to disabled students. This issue occured to me when I was watching a video on how the X-Mansion in the movies is largely inaccessible, even to the principal, Professor Xavier who is a wheelchair user himself. I have researched a bit on the subject (I know the basics at least, such as making doors large enough for wheelchair users, ramps that aren't too steep, not placing obstacles near corridors, braille sign usage and pictograms, braille labels, clear out gravel on the floor, etc) Do you have any more specific recommendations, perhaps more into white cane usage?

A few ideas:

Braille and large print signs, maybe even tactile print someone who reads print could touch

Good lighting

Lighting under stairs/steps or high contrast steps if they exist at all

Elevators that talk, have tactile buttons rather than touch screen, and Braille labels

Tactile maps of the campus

Detailed maps and explanations of the communal bathroom situation, such as where are the sinks in relation to the stalls, how do the sinks work, where is the soap and how is it dispensed, how and where do you try your hands?

Buttons that open doors, maybe even doors that slide open and shut from the side instead of out or in

Hand rails on the walls similar to ones in hospitals, perhaps with lights under them?

Corners that are slightly rounded so as to avoid getting jabbed

Haven't posted art in a long, long time, but all of the art for phm and iron lung have inspired me, so here is a quick bookmark that I made for my read through of phm. This was me just messing around and basically shooting at the hip, I plan to redo this and refine it, add another star, and extend the Petrova line to wrap the whole piece in some way.

On the flip I'll have a mirror of iron lung (bloodymary my beloved).

Anyway phm is a beautiful movie and Ill love it forever, absolute cinema and all that jazz.

Everyone knows the first day of Friend Grace’s class is nickname day. It’s the day when every pebble is on their best behavior to try and make sure they get a cool nickname, something unique that they can brag to their friends and classmates about.

Sometimes, Grace will do it without thinking. That’s how Kiddo and Buddy got their nicknames. Often, Grace will nickname students after their coloration. Gaia got his nickname because he’s blue and green, and apparently looks a lot like Earth. Violet got hers because she’s purple. (She was initially disappointed since color means nothing to Eridians, but then Friend Grace showed them violet flowers and said that humans often associated purple with wealth and royalty, and she changed her tune.) Most of the time, Grace will give his students what he calls “regular human names” like Abby, Carl, or Martin.

But the most coveted nicknames are ones named after Earthen creatures. When ♩♪♬ 🎵 ♩♪♬ 🎵 first introduced themselves, Friend Grace immediately perked up and shouted “Robin!” After a bit of explaining himself and a few videos of bird calls, Robin was trilling and chirping happily, excited at having a nickname that felt like a 1-to-1 translation of their own.

Even well after Friend Grace is gone, his legacy remains. A hundred years into the future, when humankind finally launches a new ship with the express purpose of properly meeting their Eridian neighbors, one of the first messages exchanged is “Hello! My name Robin.”

Some tips and just general advice!

Kemonomimi community is for everyone, no matter how you look, don't let people tell you otherwise

It's fashion based around animal elements! Pick whatever animal (can be fantastical, a hybrid, whatever you want!) you like or relate to. And you're preatty much after the first step

The most common gear are ears and additioanly tails, but are not required!

Getting stuff lik ears and tails can be quite expensive, you can make them yourself or save up some money. Most populat website to find gear is etsy.

Lots of creatures choose to use other acessories that are usually more subtle elements like jawlery, collars, keychains or even graphic tees with their animals
