It might be (and it is) true that some people like that "Boruto" anime. Aaaand maybe there are some reasons to, alright! But what I will never forget them and Masashi Kishimoto for is what they've allowed to do with one of my favs. Meet the "Helminth with ambitions"! (Yeah that's the way I call him).
REALLY SORRY if some people don't get it right or just get mad or smth but I want to go down the list for what I'm triggered by.
№1. They let him live just because he was useful. Yeah, sure, they couldn't let him be but COME ON, if they wanted to keep him on a leash they'd give him smb stronger than Yamato. Nothing against the latter, but guys, Orochimaru did too much to be "restricted" like that.
№2. Mitsuki (sorry if didn't write it correctly). No, the lil one is nice, but why would Orochimaru need a son? For a vessel? Well I could've believed that if they hadn't keep the guy just like some funny wiki around. We already know that there won't be any plot twist with him.
№3. He hasn't changed. That's clear. Because if he did, he'd probably realise the entire weight of what he had done and that's usually not the thing you can live with so peacefully. And the authors are trying to say: "Look! He's changed now!" No way.
NO! WAIT! THAT'S NOT THE SPEECH AGAINST LGBTQ+! What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't make sense at all. The studio wanted to make it like he's become so cool that doesn't care about his sex/gender/whatever. Cuz if he didn't... would he mention it so often? In "Naruto" he didn't care about it and that's why he didn't mention. But that's the thing: he always knew what he was, he just didn't care about the vessel. And might I remind that the bodies sooner or later adapted to his own form, in which he always wad a man. And, like...the addressing? "Lord Orochimaru". No? Alright.
Actually there's more what I could mention but I'm writing it at 2 am so...yeah, sorry to everyone who found my opinion agressive or smth. No sarcasm. About Kabuto it's the same, btw — you cannot find yourself when there's none of you. So now our helminth with ambitions turned into an Eublefar from AliExpress.
And hey. If anything, let us just discuss this topic! If you like the new version and the anime itself — that's not bad at all! What I'm sad about is not that the studio makes a products for kids and not at least teens but that they make money on the product made from what we loved and still do. That's disappointing, really. Imho.
