heartbreaking. you have to write the fic youre writing in order for it to be written
it's good for your mental health to have mutuals who are wildly horny about kinks which do nothing at all for you
this is both as in. sometimes you will realise that actually these kinks do do something for you and that can be very eye-opening and liberating
and also as in. sometimes you will hear someone decry these kinks as indicative of moral failing, and being friends with people like this makes you immune to that sort of knee-jerk outrage
Also primes you for awareness that there are a lot of people who like a lot of things you donāt like or even that make you uncomfortable, and that is okay, has nothing to do with their character, and is also none of your business.
Itās always good practice. Remember that minding your own business costs $0 and has numerous health benefits.
āHaving freaky friends to immunise you against moral panicā is a take so good I canāt believe I donāt hear it more often.
"I have been attending the Devil's sacrament with you perverts for three weeks straight and you haven't awakened a fucking thing in me."
āStart now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and donāt stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just⦠start.ā

did you memorize the 5 species of salmon in the pacific-northwest using a mnemonic on your hand? or do i gotta teach you?
ok listen up, i'm only gonna say this once:
PINKY is PINK SALMON (self explanatory)
RING FINGER is SILVER SALMON (like a silver wedding ring)
MIDDLE FINGER is KING SALMON (longest finger is the king)
INDEX FINGER is SOCKEYE SALMON (because when you point, you can jab someone in the eye)
THUMB is CHUM SALMON (because it rhymes
good, now that we've cleared that up, go forth and conquer.
I remember someone saying "mad scientists in fiction aren't scientists because there's never a control group"
I think if you've created an elixir that turns people into goat men you have sort have gone past the need for a control group. The control group is not going to placebo themselves into goat men. You can probably not run the control group, and safely assume that none of them would have turned into goat men. That said, having a control group for that would make the mad scientist seem extra crazy and be really really funny, especially if he was carefully testing them for goat like features from the dyed water they drank instead of the elixir
@aydascomprehendsubtext
Control group until just for plecebo!!! how do you know the neighborhood wizard isn't also conducting goat man experiments on the population and your sample wouldn't have turned into gotmen anyway???
THINGS I NEED TO FUCKING KNOW: Why every fuckin trans man or nb person I know who binds is likeĀ āoh binders are the worst, you canāt breathe in them, I know someone who broke a rib onceā,
And meanwhile over in historical costuming, we are fucking eating, sleeping, swordfighting, riding horses, and feeling great like this:
(credit: Jenny La Flamme, The Tudor Tailor, Verdaera)
Like is there NO overlap between people who want to bind and people who care about accurate 16th century clothing reconstruction techniques?
(I, okay, maybe it is kind of a niche interest, butā¦. REALLY? Anyone whoās made a boned binder, PLS SPEAK TO ME)
Omigods yes thatās what I used to make my trial binding corset for under a 1830ā²s gentlemanās costume! I adapted the Elizabethan Pattern Generator Corset to look more like the gentlemanās corset of the time as portrayed in satirical cartoons.
This was only the second pair of stays I made, but it already made me practically flat and was quite comfortable. I didnāt even full bone it and it looked like this:
(donāt judge me for the awful way the boning sticks out at the top, I am by no means a corsetry expert)
People who are actually good at stays will be able to make things like these with no trouble, because if something made from old sheets and recycled boning can do this, imagine what you can do with proper materials.
Just for fun, hereās me in my gentlemanās outfit:
It basically eliminates my boobs, but leaves the hips alone because at that time the hourglass silhouette was fashionable for men as well. Iām not exactly flat-chested, so Iād say for a first attempt this one is very succesful.
ā¦okay, was anyone going to tell me that gentlemenās corsets were A Thing or did I just have to learn that in a random reblog myself
I think a lot of it comes down to production cost, because most binders are like 3-4 pieces sewn together simply and thus pretty cheap to produce. A good corset or pair of stays tends to be $100+ just because of the amount of time and craftsmanship that goes into it.
That said, hereās the corset pattern generator, some info on historical mens corsetry, and info on cheap boning substitutes. Iāve been wary of trying this myself just because with the size of my chest Iām afraid Iāll end up with a shelf instead of being flattened, but I think itās worth a try.
Update:
Iām impressed as hell honestly, Iāve never been both so flat and so comfy. In this picture theyāre laced loosely enough that I can fit my whole arm down the front with room to spare.
Iād encourage anyone whoās been intimidated by stays or corsets to give it a go! I definitely fucked this up in a couple places but itās still comfortable and functional, and overall probably cost me about $15. I just used cheap cotton muslin sandwiched around a piece of cotton canvas, with 14 inch cable ties for the bones.Ā
I actually remembered to take photos as I went, so Iām going to put up a writeup some time soon in case it might help anyone else. for now hereās a picture of the pattern:
The nice thing about this is that itās just one long piece, so you donāt have to worry about all the tricky curved seams that make corset making so difficult. You just cut out a couple copies on the fold, stack them on top of each other and sew your boning channels.
Would love a write-up and Iām definitely checking out the links!
straight guys are absurd. i once asked one if theyād kiss a boy for $50,000 and they said no. at that point itās not even gay itās just the best option
sheās a lesbian girl now if anyone wanted an update.
I didnāt, but I think I needed it.

This is such a "common sense" way of putting it. Everybody memorize this for spitting it back out whenever needed.
